Gone too soon.

The whole basketball community, young basketball fans and aspirants mourns as Kobe Bryant, 41 and his 13 year-old daughter Gianna, was among of the 9 passengers who died in a helicopter crash last Sunday morning in Calabasas, California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been confirmed that there were no survivors among the 9 passengers who aboard the aircraft, yet an investigation is still on going.

Aside from the basketball star and his daughter, another sport legend passed away, the Orange Coast College baseball coach, John Altobelli and his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa was also there alongside with the pilot and 3 other who died in the deadly crash.

At this point, there were no clear details about the incident aside from the confirmation that there were no survivors despite the effort to recover the victims immediately. The crash caused a bushfire that prevent the respondents to penetrate the site. An investigation is still on going as to why the pilot was granted permission to fly even though weather conditions were worse than usual standards for flying.

A witness called the fog yesterday "as thick as swimming in a pool if milk".

This sudden death of the 2- times NBA Finals MVP, who inspired millions of young children to be a successful basketball player in the future, brought people together to pay tribute and to honor his memories in every ways possible, the Sunday's Grammy awards also paid tribute to the legend.

Despite the fact that there are some developments in the investigation, we should still be responsible in spreading the news. Due to the sudden rush of emotions people tend to be carried away by these situations and let their judgment be clouded by their emotions, that's why there some people who became a free target of fake news that are circulating through the online community. There are still no concrete evidence and statement as to where and who are the people responsible for the accident, we should avoid to jump into conclusions and put the blame in certain person. Always remember that there are tons of facrors that may cause a certain occurrence that cannot be controlled by man.

Behind every kid who shouts "kobe" every time a crumpled paper was shot in random trashbins always lies a great story to tell. You may be gone but your legacy will always remain.

Novel Corona Virus: Updates

As of Corona Virus has been viral all through out the social media yesterday (January 24, 2020) the latest update regarding the issue was in Palawan in some areas in the Philippines that there are some patients allegedly and under observation at Palawan Hospital. This issue was so alarming to all Pilipino’s some are worrying about their families,Philippines hospital facilities, and some other stuffs.

Audie Cipriano, chief of the medical staff at Hospital ng Palawan, said a 10-year-old Brazilian girl and another Taiwanese child are being held for the next 24 hours. Cipriano said the Brazilian child and her family live in Wuhan, China, where the outbreak of the deadly new virus began. The family arrived in El Nido, Palawan last Wednesday for a vacation. The girl was brought to the hospital at around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, but Cipriano noted that her fever has gone down.

"Mukha naman pong nag-dedecrease na 'yung symptoms... We are still advising na yung batang Brazilian to have a confirmatory test," Cipriano said.

People should also be aware of those who re disseminating fake news all over social apps, we should have to make sure first if it’s reliable/legit source or not. We should not have added issues to make the current issue more alarming that could make people panic.

Social media has been so toxic since then somehow it’s true but there are also fake news circulating around. We should not rely more on social media news, we should listen and watch through local television news to be updated regarding the issues.in addition, Pilipino people are demanding to ban all the tourist who are coming outside the country lessen the chances of virus spreading. Because some are believed that we could not handle this issue because of our health facilities deficiency.

“New Year, New Virus Strain”

First month of the year and it feels like months has passed already. So many challenges and circumstances that are coming in the way of the people all over the world. One of those is the spreading of Corona Virus that originated in Wuhan. This family of viruses are more common to animals but, in rare cases, can be transmitted to humans. Some strains can cause moderately serious illnesses in people, with symptoms similar to that of a common cold. In severe cases, these viruses can cause pneumonia or bronchitis and does not respond to any antibiotic treatment. This mystery has taken away many lives and is spreading fast. So, it is better to be prepared and know how to prevent this kind of virus.

Ict protocol has been a big help to obtain and absorb how this virus is contagious because of the reliable sources, feasible and accurate data. Many people has been mindful that some of them are wearing face mask, washing their hands or sanitize themselves to prevent the acquiring of this virus.

As of now, no vaccines has been developed for the corona virus and it is better to be aware than to regret later. Ignorance is not an excuse, so as much as possible learn and be prepared on what is coming for you.

KNPP for the youth... Really?

But lately this clothing line went viral due to the obscenity of their designs and objectifying women to be a sex symbol.

One Filipino Clothing Brand "KNPP" became a hot topic on social media because of its inappropriate designs and choice of endorsers. KNPP stands for "Kain Pepe" and is owned by "Boss Toyo" who can also be seen holding one of their models private parts.

They kept on making excuses just to justify how vulgar and degrading their shirts designs are by telling everyone that the purpose of the brand name is to ensure and encourage teenagers to eat properly. They also insisted that "Pepe" which according to them symbolizes the youth was also derived from the nickname of our national hero, Jose Rizal, while "Kain" is a common Filipino word that means to eat.

Later on, the original post shown below was deleted from their facebook page due to violent reactions from the netizens.

For the past few days the clothing line received tons of backlash from the netizens, according to the comments and shared post, their products was sexually exploiting women's private parts and promote women to be a sex symbol.

Also it is promoted by social media influencer and majority of them are young women.

The short-haired woman below is Leng, a young social media influencer and the clothing line founder "Boss Toyo" . Leng, received offensive remarks from netizens because of promoting the brand.

In our society today, where incidents of sexual harassment happen very often everywhere whether through social media, public transportation, public places and even in our own home, having something like this is not a great help in stopping sexual predators from attacking women. Although the page were reported numerous times already, Facebook seems to be oblivious to what is really happening. 

When it comes to social media marketing, using social media to promote their brand is a bad idea, especially if they did not put any warnings or age restrictions on their websites and web pages that's why young people may view their products and somehow make a way to purchase them without the consent from the parents.Sellers should be responsible in posting their products by providing age restrictions and guidelines so that they can filter those people who are allowed to view and purchase their products. They should be mindful of the factors that can eventually affect their business.

Jadine no more...

It has been confirmed last night in "Tonight with Boy Abunda" that Nadine Lustre and James Reid are officially over.

The couple who were supposed to celebrate their 4th anniversary this coming February 11, decided to end their relationship through a live joint released statement on the said episode.

"It’s true that we have split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media, but because after quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can," they said.

Their relationship had been subjected to various speculations, when Nadine allegedly left their shared home in Quezon City.

"We agreed that going separate ways was best for both of us. We are in good terms and are still really good friends and will continue to work with each other especially when it comes to music," they said.

Recently last December, Nadine signed up a contract in James Reid's own record label with plans of producing solo album. Previously they've collaborated with several tracks including "Summer".

They had also appear friendly together in Brazil for a photo shoot in a fashion editorial. They also thanked their fans for their undying support and love they received althoughout the span of their relationship, and hoped that they will still continue to support them through their journey even though they chose to be on separate ways.

There had also been rumors that the real reason behind the JaDine break up was a third-party, on behalf of of James Reid who was allegedly with Issa Pressman, the younger sister of actress Yassi Pressman. There had been reports that the two were clinging on each other in an event and even spotted kissing.

Those speculations lead their fans to lashed out on Issa Pressman and throwing hurtful accusations on her. Which was later on, falsified by her sister Yassi via Instagram post showing that she and Nadine had spent time together over dinner and talked about how things escalated so fast that the situation got out of hand. It can also be seen in the comment section that James Reid apologized for the women who have been dragged into the issue.

On the other hand, some people got confused on the identity of Issa Pressman, and that leads to Iza Calzado being involved in the third-party issue in an epic- fail and funny way.

The 37 year old actress who have been married for almost 2 years now, was shocked when she was bombarded by messages through her social media accounts blaming her for the #jadinebreakup. In response to that, she posted some of the messages in her Instagram stories and responded to it in a light way.

This misunderstanding only shows that some Filipinos especially the supporters of the love team, tend to let their sudden rush emotions take over on how they are going to post in their social media. Being an active citizen in the online community, we should be mindful of the things that we post through our social media accounts, we should not let our emotions manipulate on how we are going to respond in a certain issue online.

That incident with Iza Calzado just shows how some people are inaccurate in gathering information. Luckily, the person they allegedly involved in the issue, did not made a big deal out of it. Be careful with our words.
