寤寐 Wu Mei

The word “寤寐” comes from The Classic of Poetry which refers to ‘dream and awake’.

Here, we want to describe a dream where a person finds another herself following her like a shadow. She tries to get rid of it, but it is everywhere.

This TV column is lead by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Jiangsu TV station.

Each episode lasts about 20 minutes. The shows focus on one intangible cultural heritage master at a time and tell the stories behind.

It was a great pleasure for me to work on this project as an assistant director. I was involved in the whole work flow and take charge in the editing of the episodes from 20190628 to 20190908.

I took this picture when I was watching the sunset in Maldives. Some people said that Maldives could disappear in less than 100 years as it is sinking. It is so heartbreaking to see the beautiful view gone. I wish I could seal this moment and last forever.

Nanjing from 1878 to 2018

To observe the changes of the city after 1978（The opening of China）from the perspective of an urban Nanjing resident, we combined the traditional sides with the new trends coming from the western and tried to showcase the perfect integration of the old and modern.

We chose Nanjing’s landmark sites like Nanjing Center and China's first business district as the representative elements of the traditional. How these places co-existed with Lego and AirJordan, which are the symbolic components of the contemporary times.

We came up with this idea as a group and I was in charge of shooting and editing the video materials. We work perfectly as a team and this video won a 3rd place in the provincial short video competition.

Nanjing, after a light snow.

Situated in the Yangtze River Delta region, Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments dating from the 3rd century to 1949, and has thus long been a major centre of culture and historic architectures.

I was born and raised here and nourished a deep affection for the city.

It rarely snows. So every time when it snows, it shows a different look.
