“Who says study will get you work? Who says school will get you class? Who said that job will get you the cash? Who said the loan will save your ass? Who said money covers all the expenses? Who said love will save the kids? Who says forever is not divorce? Who says your dream will get you a Porsche? Who says that life is not death? Who said wearing brands is having style? Who said that original is not fake? Who said that those pills will get you high? Who said that drugs will make you smile? Who said that gas will get me the miles? Bla-bla-bla, they keep talkin’ blah.”
— Tommy Cash
i think that sometimes the best thing that you can do is remind yourself that there are beaches. lakes, rivers, and ponds. there are forests. little woods and meadows. there are canyons. gullies and mountain cliffs. there are rainy days. dry spells and scorching blue skies. that the world turns. changes as much as it repeats. that feeling slow today won't stop tomorrow's high tide. won't make july's blackberries any less ripe

small joys
sitting in the sun
reading a book so good you can’t put it down
warm blankets
drinking hot chocolate on cold stormy day
lying in bed while it rains outside
starting a new journal
ice cream
going on long walks while you listen to music
scented candles
long car drives
sitting on the beach, watching the ocean
