friendly reminder that one year ago today netflix uk confirmed heartstopper coming out spring 2022

ik a lot of people have heard about bash voicing a character in that harry potter game, and this really isn’t my place to speak, but bash hasn’t posted anything about this himself, and i think the first teaser/trailer for the game released in 2020, which means bash probably did the dubbing way back in 2018/19. idk when all the drama with jk rowling started (and really i’m not very updated on her because i really don’t care for her, though i’m sorry for everyone she’s hurt) but i don’t really think bash is encouraging the role

i’m not defending bash in this, but i believe this was way before heartstopper when he still was a quite small actor looking for as many bookings as he could get. i’m sorry if this is was hateful towards anyone, really not my intention

i believe a lot of people have heard the rumors about s2 coming out in october by now, and i just want to share my opinion on this

so basically ‘lorraine’ said on tv we would expect heartstopper s2 to arrive in october this year (not directly really, but on a calendar thingy), and that obviously started some speculations within the fandom. imo i don’t think this is the case

first of all i don’t think they have any inside information, mainly because it’s still very early in the post production to have an exact date yet. secondly, it seems that ‘lorraine’ based their “release date” on s1 and how long it took from wrapping to realeasing (around 10 months). also i believe i’ve heard somewhere post production for s1 was delayed because of covid, and that it was supposed to arrive earlier than it did. alice shared that post production for s2 wouldn’t take as long as s1 (i believe because there’s very little restrictions for covid, but also because they have a “base” from s1 with the animations and the general vibe etc)

young royals s2 wrapped may 2022, and was released november 1 same year, so they had around 6 months with post production (note that young royals have a little longer running time than heartstopper), and because the two shows are quite similar (with no cgi and stuff), they will probably have a similar post production time

that leads me to why i don’t think s2 drops in october, but rather in may/june, hopefully. but i won’t jinx anything until netflix themselves announces anything

i’m so fucking embarrassed to call myself a heartstopper fan today. this beautiful little show taught us that it’s okay to figure out your sexuality and take it at your own pace, and the fact that people have the audacity to literally FORCE an innocent, sweet and caring 18 year old to out himself is straight up disgusting. grow up people, it was kit’s choice, and only his choice when and if he wanted to come out. fucking unbelievable
