#OptOutside #GetUp #GetOut everyday. Having outdoor animals = spending a little time outdoors daily. Chickens have been the best form of therapy the past 3 years. It becomes even more important in Southeast Alaska (and Alaska) when we lose daylight and people begin going to work in the dark and going home in the dark. It doesn't last long and it's the balance to our extremely long days in the summer; it's a time of year I look forward to. @alaska_kingcrab will be in the #harbor for two months (it will fly). All the big #projects we talk about all spring, summer and fall, will this be the year? There should be mandatory "outdoor siesta" during this time of year so everyone can get their daily dose of the outdoors. How did our longitude and latitude ancestors survive and thrive? Reading this makes me remember it's all first world problems and I don't know true hardship. I picked the book up on the @alaska_kingcrab boat and was sure I had bought it as a gift for him. I have had a hard time putting it down, it happens to be written by a #dane primarily about #denmark🇩🇰 which I ❤️. Our great grandparents immigrated when my gramma Mary was 9. Her parents were 43 and 41 which wasn't lost on me.
