Krampus is a demon(Austrian legend) that accompanies Saint Nick as he visits everyone’s house. I guess you can call him one of Santa’s helpers. Krampus is much like any of Santa’s helpers, except if you have been bad he doesn’t leave a coal in your stocking…he abducts you and drags you to the depths of hell and burns them alive for eternity. 

In Austria people really get into the whole Krampus thing, they even dress up as it and scare the little children.
