Roy chuckles a little, thinking of something smooth that can be said. He always had luck when it came to this but never held a relationship for long. Maybe after things fell apart with his past few relationships it didn’t feel like that was something he deserved to have if they kept ending over one reason or another. He also believes in everything happening for a reason though so maybe all of those failed to teach him some lessons before getting to be with Conner. “I’ll take you to dinner but we kind of did things backwards. Dessert before dinner? What would my parents say?” > He doesn’t even want to think about what Oliver would say — remembering his rules for living under his roof growing up. No driving his car, don’t bring anyone back home, and don’t get anyone pregnant. He obeyed two of them at least.
“You literally baked six cakes? Babe …” Roy smiles fondly at how much Conner was willing to do for their daughter. It’s sweet seeing how dedicated that the man is to the family they’ve made. He just hopes that the Kryptonian is ready for dealing with the arrow family. It meant accepting Dinah and Oliver into your life and also his siblings Mia and Connor. There’s even more than that but doesn’t dive too deep into that thought.
Soon enough Lian went off to her sleepover and they were alone. He doesn’t often have a quiet apartment so this is nice. Long as nobody else in Titans Tower comes down here and bothers them. “I can think of a few things. What are you in the mood for? I think that will help me decide.” Roy asks with a smile as he leans in the doorway.
The fact that they were together now probably meant that it was the right time for them to jump into this, and Conner might’ve had to wait a little but the outcome was definitely worth it. Being able to call himself Roy’s boyfriend, Lian’s other dad, it was all definitely worth it. Their time spent together before, building those years of friendship surely meant something and now that they were both single, they took a chance on each other and it turned out to be the best thing he could’ve ever asked for. “If I remember correctly you actually had the other kind of dessert first before anything, so I don’t know what they would say exactly. Not that I’m complaining,” he mused before smiling at the man.
“Yes,” he blushed, “Everything had to be perfect,” he said finishing his plate before crossing his arms at the other man. Conner wondered if he had told Oliver that they were already together, and he was sure Oliver would give them a hard time, he wasn’t really sure about Dinah. All of them had pretty big families, Conner even had Jonathan, Lois, Clark, and pretty much everybody else who took him into their lives without question.
“Me? I’m always in the mood for more of you, best kind of dessert there is, and we’ve got a lot of surfaces here in the tower that we haven’t really used, so I think we might as well check if everything is sturdy. What do you think?”
