during the wga/sag-aftra strike, we may see:

film in other countries continuing as usual, but those actors/writers are NOT crossing picket lines! other countries unions often have rules where they can’t strike in solidarity with american unions.

new indie movies separate from hollywood studios. indie movies can continue as usual too, and may even use union actors if they follow certain guidelines and/or get permission from the union.

awards shows, although they might look different and may be postponed. if there are award shows during the strike, there’s a chance they will just be live conferences announcing winners with no celebrations attached.

celebrities will not be promoting their work during this time— that WOULD be crossing the picket line! yes, this includes social media. they can still post on social media, as long as it doesn’t pertain to their work.

a lot more reality tv. this happened the last time there was a writers strike, and it will certainly happen again.

actors will also not be able to campaign for awards. this awards season is going to be a strange one.

propaganda from hollywood. they are already trying to flip the narrative by claiming they can break the unions, but they can’t. the strikers have the power. stand with them for however long this takes!

Also, apparently people who stream TTRPGs (Dimension20, Critical Role, the Rivals casts, etc) are getting hate from a loud corner. These productions don't come close to studio work. The next season of TLOVM Animated Series for Amazon will definitely be delayed! But not the cameras in the own studio pointed at their own dnd game, jeez people.

Those productions (unless they are specifically live streams) are also shot ahead of time so they can be edited, etc. So the release of "new" content in the next few months wouldn't be synonymous with them crossing a picket line to go to work anyway.

This is the type of thing that delays the release of projects currently being written and filmed, not the release of projects that have already made it to post-production or have been completed entirely.

Why do you do this to me

There’s a reason behind color zones, but James Gurney does a much better job at explaining it than I do. Keep in mind this doesn’t cover lighting, just the local color of skin.

Although there are ‘color palettes’ here, I really wouldn’t recommend using them for your own (as in saving the image and eye dropping them) art, I did this rather quickly so this probably not very accurate. These are just my personal preferences when it comes to color. I don’t have saved palettes; I pick colors depending on the lighting or mood as I am working on a painting. BUT IF YOU WANT TO GO RIGHT AHEAD.

As for texture, lolidunno, I just use a lot of scatter brushes until it sort of looks like skin texture??? I honestly don’t worry about texture though unless it’s like a really close up view of a face or whatever. You can find my brushes here (you’ll need Photoshop CS or higher).

I am flattered that people are seeking advice from me, but keep in mind that I am still learning myself, so I am by no means the best person to be asking. Hope this helps you out though, anon!
