I rarely post WIPs here, but I'll make an exception.
I drew Dr. Pickman and Michael Grant. I can't publish them in full because I need to draw the background. 😭

All y'all need to stop saying "Collectivism" when you mean "community"
And "Individualism" when you mean "Isolation"
We need to treat "he was a bad husband but a good father" with the same level of disgust, scrutiny, and criticism as the phrase "boys will be boys"
It's just another phrase made to justify shitty men being shitty. I've never heard it used for an actual decent father, it's always been used to justify the deadbeat loser fathers who cheated on their kids' mother and think they deserve brownie points for their bare-minimum parenting.
"He was a bad husband but a good father." If you have to say this about your ex, stop what you're doing, go to court and get your full custody (or supervised visitation so you can see where/when he shits the bed and says/does something offensive to the kids in front of you), and then finally get your kids the stable family they deserve.
Something that tilts me about the way online culture has developed is that it feels like no one knows how to be a proper fucking provocateur anymore. Like people have been making "edgy" art for as long as the written word has existed but there is a certain social contract that comes with putting something out into the world that you know will offend people, which is that the offense is to be expected. It annoys me to no end when someone puts something out into the world that is so obviously offensive in some way shape or form and then spends all day complaining about people trying to "cancel" them or that no one respects "free expression" or that their critics are being "puritanical" or whatever. Like I'm sorry if you're going to say something obviously provocative I don't wanna hear you whining like a little bitch baby when people are provoked. Cause like no shit my guy what did you think was going to happen????
This is what so many people sound like to me
Gambit: Wanted #2 (Marvel, August 2026) cover by Leinil Francis Yu
Man, we have got to stop treating art like it has an expiration date. That show stopped airing? Doesn’t mean it can’t haunt your every waking thought. Everybody’s into this album, but you don’t have the energy for new music right now? It’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready. That movie’s fifty years old and indie as shit? Incredible, you have the chance to share it with folks who might never otherwise feel that particular punch of delight. Books don’t go bad. Shows inspire fandoms decades after they’ve wrapped up. We’re still looking at cave paintings and statue work from ancient times and letting the joy of creation bring tears to our eyes. That’s the point of art. It’s as close to immortality as we ever get. Why try to give that magic a shelf life?
