Alice Auaa was founded in 1995 and is still active! The brand is regarded as the most high-end Japanese alternative brand. Alice Auaa has garnered international recognition and has been worn by many celebrities. The brand is known for their elegant, gothic, avant-gard style.

According to JapaneseStreets.com, “The brand was founded by Japanese fashion designer Yasutaka Funakoshi shortly after a devastating quake destroyed his hometown of Kobe. Funakoshi had already managed his own shop for a few years, but the experience of the quake inspired him to start his own fashion line. Starting a new business amidst all the destruction and hopelessness must have required much courage, but Funakoshi dryly states that he saw it as an opportunity because many companies had gone out of business and, as he explains it, it became comparatively easy to rent space.”

Lady Gaga chose Alice Auaa for her press conference to promote "ARTPOP" when she visited Japan in December 2013. This was huge for the brand and exponentially helped with their growth.

Baby Doll was formed in 1999, by Mirano Midorikawa. (I am absolutely obessed with this woman. She’s insane.) Baby Doll had a store in harajuku that was popular with punk people! The brand’s style is very glamorous, sexy and rebellious. It’s common to see Baby Doll’s pieces in street snaps.

I wanted to create a supercut that evolved a meme that I find funny and manga. I have a sincere love for Japanese culture and an intense appreciation for the mangakas who put in so much work to create these beloved pieces of media. I timed the interviews to the screaming as carefully as I could and thus "Mangaka Scream" was born!

I, along with many others on this earth, struggle significantly with mental health. Depression and social anxiety rule my life most days, and for a while, I have found myself not able to get out of this funk that I have somehow gotten myself into. I wanted to create a performance art video that reflects how I feel most days. One thing I love doing in my downtime besides drawing is doing my makeup. For me, makeup is another way to express myself while also being therapeutic. Even though it looks like I am smiling and happy on the outside does not mean I am not struggling. The TV static audio in the video represents how chaotic the mind can be, especially with the negative self-talk chatter. This habit can be challenging to overcome when you are feeling severely down. Even though the video might be dark in meaning, I hope that viewers can see a small amount of light in the situation.

Coonskin is an American live-action/ animated movie about an African American rabbit, fox, and bear who fight against corrupt law enforcement, con artists, and the Mafia by rising to the top of the organized crime racket.
