why's it every start hurts just like an end? aeon ramble incoming

oohhh i've been so moved by aeon they make me so unwell /pos. especially in regards to Ada, i like the idea that because she's been a spy for so long, she sort of doubts Leon's faith in her because she feels it's too good to be true, or perhaps she feels she doesn't deserve it, or maybe it's just paranoia for her? Ada works alone and rarely allies with people, and when she does it's never usually personal on her end. i'd assume Ada harbours a deep distrust for everyone and everything, especially when her job quite literally requires her to be deceptive — perhaps she worries about being deceived too?

this is all to say that Ada is someone who probably cannot afford any personal comforts in her line of work, and it probably bleeds into the kind of person she is. i imagine Leon desperately wants to be that comfort for her, be that rock, that someone to trust. and while Ada wants to believe it, she can't help but seek flaws in his loyalty because it's all she's ever known, even when she wants it to be true. and for Leon, it very much is true. I think he loves her more than anything, and he proves it time and time again. and i think Ada recognises that, and it's terrifying — because how do you reckon with the fact someone wants you so unabashedly and wholly? i dunno i think its very intimate and cute ^^
