Why is no one talking about what happened in São Paulo yesterday?
The sky turned completely black around three in the afternoon partly because of smoke coming from the Amazon rainforest, WHICH IS 2300 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM THE CITY, where the government has greatly increased the amount of land being burned for profit. People are getting sick, animals are dying, native territory is being lost to the flames.
This is what the sky looked like in my city yesterday, in the early afternoon.
It got so dark so fast the city had to turn on the lamp posts and night lighting.
Please talk about this. Reblog this post, non-brazilians especially.
as a first mexican-american and daughter of immigrants that lives in texas, i find it quite telling that our country pursues immigrants peacefully living in their homes looking for a better future for themselves and their children but allows white people to hunt down and murder us in stores with legal guns. idc what yall say, i suffer from anxiety and depression and not once have i thought of opening fire to a store.
there is a four month old baby shot with over 40 injured and a two year- old dead amongst over 19. a man left a manifesto saying he was angry by the fact that hispanics were culturally invading and stealing jobs and all that racist crap. we are being killed and our only sin is moving and praying for a better future and bringing parts to our home. how is that a sin? and i cry because my country hates people like me, people with roots in a country that i have not once stepped into because of fears of being kidnapped.
i’m sorry for any grammar errors or mistakes but i am too tired and i will not be silenced. i am only 16 years old and live in fear that i will be shot at school where i’m supposed to be dreaming of being a doctor and college, or a movie with my friends or at a restaurant and now even the mall. i am 16 and i am scared that i will have to move to a country that i was not born in nor have ever visited. i am 16 and i’m scared for my baby sister and scared for my brother and for my parents and my friends for being killed when our biggest sin is being hispanic.
don’t let my words die, please. what happened in el paso was a hate crime. don’t let that fact be washed by the media of this country’s excuse of a president.
Menaka Guruswamy and Arundhati Katju if you wanna find out more about them!
Can the world just be run by gorgeous, brilliant, heart-lead lesbians already?
The fans shouting "f*ck trump" in the background live on fox news. Happy Sunday yall

okay guys, there’s something we need to talk about more..
netflix just released the film ‘ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga’ which is an indian movie about a girl who’s into girls and how she gets the courage to come out and face her family and be with the woman she loves. sound familiar? yeah, i know it’s the basic plot of most hollywood lgbtq movies but that’s not the point.
this is literally the first indian movie i’ve seen on a famous platform, accessible by anyone, that actually represents the lgbtq community in all its beauty and love and affection, rather that scorning or mocking it.
the movie is beautiful and the scenes and the fluff and the cute couple and the emotions just make it so worth watching, and that’s not all.
i’m an indian bisexual teenager and i would’ve been so happy to have been exposed to a movie like this when i was younger. if i had seen this kind of portrayal in the film industry, i doubt that i would’ve been the afraid young girl i was and i would’ve had the courage to do what the main characters did and just BE MYSELF.
all i hope is that someone sees this movie, some little girl out there sees it and knows that she is not alone, that she is not abnormal. with a topic such as this, which has been treated as taboo for decades now in my country (still is kinda), when it is actually being represented and being represented well, i can’t help but wanna scream about it from the rooftops.
also just look at this adorableness:
anywho, REBLOG, SIGNAL BOOST THIS BECAUSE IT IS SO IMPORTANT.
