Always by my side! ♥️ A story about what wasn’t by my side when I needed it, below: I have a 6pm flight to New York tonight, and last night when I was packing up, I reached for my passport, and it wasn’t in the spot where I usually keep it. I searched high and low, and completely turned my house upside down looking for it. I was so frustrated because I’m organized to a fault, and in this very moment, my organization skills had completely gone out the window! I called the emergency passport line in the middle of the night scream crying, asking what I could do. I didn’t sleep a wink last night going over how much it would cost to get an emergency one/the time it would to get one - it just wasn’t worth the trouble, so I planned on cancelling my flight first thing this morning. At 7am right before I was going to cancel my flight, I decided to call the airport that I cleared customs in last (which was only 3 weeks ago). This was my last ditch attempt in finding it. While in the phone with them, the women told me that since the beginning of 2019, there have been 1142 passports left at the airport... She searched through her system, while I waited anxiously on the other end of the phone. After a long hold, she came back and said “you’re flying tonight! I have your passport!” A long story for those of you who actually read it, but I thought I would share it since I really would have never thought to call the airport! We all know we don’t really need our passports until we NEED them, and with the stress and rush of travelling, they are easily misplaced.
