I’m not a night owl or an early bird, I’m some sort of permanently exhausted pigeon.

Developing anorexia is weird.
It’s like you get this free trial where you can just skip a meal or two and BOOM you’ve lost 10 pounds in like a week and then after a few more weeks that trial runs out and you pay for the full version with crying and pain and isolation and sadness and so much math.
NO MORE!!!!!!!
No more just eating to eat!!!!!!
No more boredom eating!!!!!!!
No more snacks and sweets!!!!!!!
No more calorie drinks!!!!!!!!
No more fat!!!!!!!
I am going to lose weight!!!!!!
I am going to fit into a size xs!!!!!!!
I am going to be 90 lbs!!!!!!!!
I am going to be skinny!!!!!!!
I got this!!!!!!!!!!
Perks of Losing Weight
Some of the things i have noticed
- Hair doesn’t get greasy anymore, it just doesn’t
- There is less to wash, exfoliate, self tan, etc. (Honestly really notice this one in the shower, i used to have 20+ lbs more in my legs)
- Moving with more ease
- Food is cheap. Hello water over cocktails and an apple over spaghetti bolognese
- Generally feeling smaller is a bit euphoric especially wrapped in blankets or trying on old clothes
- Skin clears up because theres less oil production
- Barely sweating (even while exercising or on a hot day)
- Sunglasses/glasses are more flattering against a more angular face
and when i reach my goal weights, i just feel fucking invincible.
Things I wish people understood about eating disorders:
1. Most people with eating disorders don’t literally starve themselves, they restrict. Just because you see us eating doesn’t mean we’re getting better.
2. The horrible, absolutely torturous feeling we get after we eat. No matter what it is, how many Calories… it’s always there.
3. You. Don’t. Have. To. Be. Thin. To. Have. An. Eating. Disorder. God someone needs to scream this one from the top of a building.
4. It’s life consuming. Food is always on my mind.
What I’ll eat next, when I’ll eat next, how I’ll burn it off
5. I can’t just ‘snap out of it’ and I can’t ‘just eat’
These are two of the worst things you can say.
6. I understand what my disorder is doing to me mentally and physically, believe me I do.
♡
7. It’s not a fucking diet
