New Fic!

So, the amazing @destiny-islanders let me write something that was inspired by (and follows along the duration of) one of their comic strips. Hope y'all enjoy!

so fun fact I've switched over to google docs to write my things, and the doc for ATS is so big that I literally can't get it let me write on my phone anymore! So all writing ahs been done from my computer lately which is why it's taken so long lately. I don't have a lot of computer time :(

ATS Chapter 10 alternate plots

So. I mentioned before that I had rewritten this chapter about a million times. I've had a couple of asks about what else I would've done, so I finally remembered to put them here.

Idea #1:

Originally, I was going to start the chapter by having all of the boys stumble across Sky. Some of them, obviously, would know who he was, but he wouldn't know them. The story continues from there il all of them getting to know/re-know each other, and eventually, they end up in Skyloft and it goes from where Chapter 10 picks up with Sky going down.

Idea #2:

Twilight recognizes the sound of Sky's harp and has a positive reaction, leading to the others becoming curious and wanting to go seek it out. Que the Warriors mental breakdown when Twi lets it slip that Sky is behind the music because 'he's literally dead what the fuck do you mean he's alive I saw him die IN FRONT OF ME'. That spirals into a whole explanation of what happened and how both of them know Sky which turns into Wild and Wind having to explain their experiences with him. The others are super confused but just kinda go with it and have to keep the four of them from freaking out when they finally come across him. Then they end up in Skyloft and it goes roughly from where Chapter 10 picks up.

Idea #3:

The chapter introduces Sky, already having met the chain and figured out what they needed to do in this particular world. As they travel, que several different flashback scenes to the rest of the chain realizing who he is and everything that he's been a part of. Eventually, they end up on the Surface, but it takes longer for Sky to 'forget' them, though he stops talking almost immediately. The others don't understand why he's suddenly gone silent, and neither does Sky. He just knows that something's wrong, and it's going to end very, very poorly for him. Que the collapse, and it picks up where he collapses in chapter 10.

So. These were the alternative paths for chapter 10. I'm aware that they're all very similar, I was trying to work their first meeting into this chapter but couldn't manage to figure it out. I've mentioned several times that I'd rewritten the chapter several times, and I'm sure that there was at least one more rewrite, but hey, I got these three written down. The next chapter is still in the works, and will hopefully be up in a decent time frame, but I make no promises. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading and I'll see you in the next post.

Alternate plot points for ATS!

Yo. I've had a couple of asks about the other boys that didn't make the main cut for Across the Skies, so I've planned out a rough idea below for them.

saying this now: it's likely that nothing will ever come of this, so don't expect this to turn into another full story. I don't know nearly enough about these games to do that, lmao.

for Time I feel like I would've done something after he slept for the seven years. I kinda wanted to address the whole "has an intense dislike of Fi" thing, but tbh he has the right to be angry, as much as i don't think his anger should be directed toward Fi (I feel like his rage should be more directed toward Hylia and Ganondorf than it already is. They're kinda the ones responsible for all the stuff that happened in his timeline). Obviously there would've been the 'big reveal' where Sky thinks it's all his fault, but it's not, but I think this story would've taken place before Time got sent back to his childhood.

for Legend, it likely would've taken place in Link's Awakening. I feel like Sky would've helped Legend come to terms with what he had to do (waking the wind fish), and how that affected him. 'Big reveal' would come during the intense emotional part, a story for a story kind of thing, cause we all know Legend isn't good at those. They would've spent a decent amount of time together and I kinda would love for them to find Marin and everyone from the Island tucked away in a remote town (maybe just outside of Hyrule's borders), having just been saved from some weird curse. Leg and Marin live happily ever after cause he deserves nice things.

for Hyrule, I truly don't know. He's the one I know the least about, full disclosure. I know that it has something to do with Ganon's followers wanting the Hero's blood to revive him, but I don't know much more than that. One of the character overviews I found about the different LU boys says that he doesn't see himself as much of a Hero, so I feel like Sky would help him see himself in a better light, borderline adopting him and Aurora/Dawn. In return, Hyrule would help Sky with learning some magic, leading to how Sky can use lightning and the 'big reveal' but he's started to see that it's not truly his fault, but feels like Hyrule should know regardless.

and for Four, I feel like that one may steer towards helping to defeat Vaati and helping the colors accept their dark Link. Something about how everyone has a bit of darkness to them and that leads into how he got the God of Evil's powers and the 'big reveal' for the chapter. I kinda want Four to let him use the Four Sword to come to terms with all of the different parts of himself, which in turn helps Four realize that it's okay to not be the perfect Hylian 24/7, and that even the Hero can have bad days where less positive emotions take the lead.

hmmmmmmmm finally got around to actually playing KH3 and I was strongly and intensely reminded of why i Fucking Hate yen sid.
