"I enjoy knitting because it's simple and works up at a nice pace," I tell the world, I tell myself.
After all, I have only been working on this project for months... years?
Perhaps I never started. And, oh, Lord knows there will never be a time when this project is finished.
I think, I remember, I dive deep into the depths of my psycheāalas, I cannot recall a time where my WIP was not present.
"Yes, I knit rather quickly!"
Me: I can't talk right now I'm doing hot girl knitting shit
Also me: *spends hours scrolling my phone looking at the spectacular work of everyone else instead of, like, idk. Knitting myself? Or something?)
Wips. Almost doneĀ
this entered my head and i felt it deep in my soul
Well on my way to leaving sleeve island and arriving in finished object land.
if you support donald trump unfollow me. full stop. hopefully no trump supporters are dumb enough to think theyāre welcome here, but seriously. gtfo my page. block me while youāre at it.
Why actually get some knitting done when you could cruise Tumblr for hours looking at pictures of other peopleās knitting?
So like⦠every day?
You are made out of memories and dreams
December 4, 2020: 250 puffs! Thereās really only one way to photograph this thing, huh? Iām going to try to mix it up some more for 300. But so happy with it! Going to look so crazy when itās done āļø
My mom is 100% knit worthy-
My mom is a retired speech pathologist. For her entire professional career, she would make the long 50 minute commute to Harrisburg, PA to teach children with severe speech impediments, how to talk. Every day, for 40 years she spent almost every single night writing lengthy evaluation reports that would sometimes take hours to complete, making it so she would be up until 1 or 2 in the morning and some nights she would fall asleep with her computer on her lap. But my mom never let her work take over the time she spent with her family. She was always home by 5:30, and had dinner on the table by 6:30. She never missed one of my sister lacrosse or field hockey games, and she was always at any art exhibit I had or able to take me to any art class I was enrolled in. In 2017, my mom retired. She wanted to spend more time with her grandchildren, and when the pandemic hit last year, she came back out of retirement to take over the full time remote learning our daughter, Paige was enrolled in so Mark and I could continue to work. Every day, my mom comes at 7:30 in the morning, to pick up Paige, and sometimes Grayson, to selflessly give up her well earned retirement years to help her daughter and son in law to continue to provide for their family. My mom is 100% knit worthy. This Christmas, Iām gifting her this sweater. The pattern is: āManouā by @lilalu72 in our Homestead Worsted āPoppyā (CC) & @jillmakesstuff āKingstonā.
Thank you, to all of the hard working educators out there, retired and still working, alike. You guys are heroes and are absolutely 100% knit worthy.
Love you mom. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIdg6ehBENU/?igshid=1r6hjn9e0yq4v
Well on my way to leaving sleeve island and arriving in finished object land.
Another 5 inches this week. End of semester blues mean knitting while watching my hero academia seems far preferable to doing any of my (many, many) assignments
Praying that I don't spill on this 40 year old hand knit sweater passed down from my husbands grandmother ā¤
Bear hoodie: finished and ends woven in. Haven't washed it yet but it fits pretty well as is!
