BloodClan - Moon 2

Mumblestar surprised the rest of BloodClan by announcing at a Clan Meeting that she is expecting kits! However, she made it clear that she is not going to move into the nursery yet.

Sleetjump spoke up afterwards to announce that she is also expecting kits; however, unlike Mumblestar, she doesn't believe she can perform her duties while pregnant, so she is going to move into the nursery now. Some of her clanmates felt that she'd spoken out of turn at the Clan Meeting, with some even accusing her of purposefully stealing Mumblestar's thunder. However, Duskspeck did not hesitate to argue with these cats and defend his wife.

Podmeadow's tail was badly injured by a fox, landing her in the medicine cat den. She and Rowanfur got into a huge fight over her putting herself in danger, their anger escalating to a point where Rowanfur even threatened to divorce her, but they seem to have quickly resolved matters.

Aaaaand Rufus died of redcough. Beequill, just what are you doing in the medicine cat den?

TumbleClan - Moon 6

Poppypaw is a warrior! Cowstar has given her the warrior name Poppysun in honor of her benevolence.

The two went on a patrol together to celebrate, only to find a kit who had been abandoned. Of course they brought him back to camp!

Meet Heatherkit! Poppysun fussed over him so much that, without really meaning to, she ended up adopting him. He's a cute little kit!

BloodClan - Moon 1

We're off to a great start with Fruittuft dying of yellowcough. Big rip for him.

Beequill and Mumblestar went on a patrol specifically so Beequill could find lungwort, the only cure for yellowcough. A bit late for that, isn't it, Beequill? Oh well, at least he found some for future cases.

It was Duskspeck and Sleetjump's turn to patrol the border by the Thunderpath, and uh oh! There's another kittypet being abandoned by his Twolegs, just like Fruittuft!

The boy they meet this time is Rufus. Like Fruittuft, he was dumped because he was sick, but don't worry! He's not sick with yellowcough, he's sick with redcough. (smh my head)

They're pretty unconcerned with how he'll affect the current political state of BloodClan, bringing him back to the camp in hopes that Beequill can help him recover, but...let's just say no one is holding their breath.

BloodClan - Moon 0

All the Heads of Houses go out on patrol with the other member of their House.

Rowanfur and Podmeadow of HouseFlame go on patrol near the Thunderpath and overhear a kittypet crying out for his Twolegs to come back. Here, they find Fruittuft.

It seems that his Twolegs dumped him because he's sick with yellowcough. Rowanfur and Podmeadow bring him back to camp, and, while Podmeadow helps him get settled in the medicine cat den, Rowanfur immediately goes to Mumblestar to campaign for Fruittuft to be given his own House. His intentions are selfish, to say the least; he believes Fruittuft will feel indebted to him and his wife, so if Fruittuft gets his own House, House Flame will essentially have two votes at Council meetings.

Mumblestar, however, says no decision will be made until Fruittuft recovers. The subtext is clear: she doesn't necessarily believe he will.

Meanwhile, Egretdapple of House Gold takes his daughter (and apprentice), Dahliapaw, on a hunting patrol. She sees a rabbit across the border in BugClan's territory and doesn't hesitate to pounce...only to come face to face with a BugClan warrior. Egretdapple does nothing to help as the two briefly tussle, and although Dahliapaw is able to flee back across the border, her tail is mangled in the fight, landing her in the medicine cat den.

TumbleClan - Moons 4 & 5

Moon 4

While they are training, Cowstar does her best to encourage Poppypaw and commend her for how hard she's working. However, she also knows how anxious her apprentice can get, so she encourages her to relax and avoid burning herself out.

Moon 5

Cowstar eavesdrops on Poppypaw to see if she's taking her advice and overhears her hyping herself up so she can try to make Cowstar proud.

Snickerz says that Cowstar overheard Poppypaw singing "Reflection" from Mulan.

TumbleClan - Moon 3

While in camp, Poppypaw swears she sees several ghosts lingering around the corners. It makes her wonder briefly if she made the wrong choice coming to TumbleClan, but more importantly, it causes her to develop a conspiracy theory that Lynxstar had the camp established on the site of a giant massacre.

TumbleClan - Moon 2

While patrolling the border, Cowstar encounters an apprentice from BrambleClan: Poppypaw. The young apprentice throws herself down in front of Cowstar and begs to be allowed to join TumbleClan.

Poppypaw is a very anxious girl. She is the younger sister of BrambleClan's chosen founding leader, but she hated the way BrambleClan was being run and fled.

Even if Cowstar wasn't desperate for more members, she would've accepted; she's too compassionate not to, even if it risks worsening TumbleClan's relationship with its neighbor. She very eagerly stepped into the role of Poppypaw's new mentor.

TumbleClan - Moon 1

Cowstar finds herself having strange dreams. They're similar to the ones given to her by Lynxstar, the ones that led her to come and found TumbleClan, and yet so very unlike them. They're...darker. More ominous. Sometimes she wakes up from them feeling even more tired than when she wet to sleep.

When she finally sees Lynxstar in a dream and is able to tell him about them, his smile wavers for a moment before he gently warns her not to pursue those dreams any further.

"They will bring you and TumbleClan nothing but bloodshed and ruin."

TumbleClan - Moon 0

StarClan came together and decided to choose five cats to found new clans around each other. Lynxstar was in charge of choosing TumbleClan's new leader.

His pick was Cowstar. Everyone else in StarClan was a bit wary of this decision, sensing something in Cowstar that would draw her towards the Dark Forest, but Lynxstar vouched for the compassion he saw in Cowstar, believing she would not be swayed to evil.

She patrolled the border of her new clan territory after arriving and was ambushed by a gang of rogues who intended to take over the territory before the clan could even establish itself, but she fought fiercely and defeated them without any injuries to herself.

TumbleClan - Clan Founding Challenge Attempt #1

@snickerzanddoodlez (my sister) created a challenge in ClanGen where, after starting a clan, you kill/exile all the cats except your leader and treat it as if they are starting a new clan. For story reasons, it's fun to have the clan's personal code be established as you go (what do cats get exiled for, are certain positions not allowed to have mates/kits, etc.) and have certain positions only be filled in the clan when it makes sense for the clan to do so.

Snickerz and I have decided to try this challenge together with TumbleClan, which I'll be posting updates about (sometimes with accompanying doodles done by snickerz).

It all begins with Moon 0...

House Gold - BloodClan

The fourth and final house in BloodClan! At least for the moment, anyways. They are an ultimogeniture absolute cognatic house, so the position of Head of House will pass to the youngest heir, regardless of gender.

While they're not exactly against taking concubines, typically they only approve of it if it is related to a couple having kits out of wedlock. This, of course, assumes one and only one of the cats already has a mate; if neither does, they are expected to marry, and if both do, it is grounds for divorce and removal from at least the House Gold.

The current two members are:

Egretdapple

He is the Patriarch and Head of House. He is also the Deputy, giving him a second vote at Council meetings.

He is 88 moons and the only Head of House not to be married. He's been called a lore master by his clanmates; in other words, he is very aware of the politics of the various Houses. That being said, he's also rather oblivious; he often overestimates his ability to use other cats as well as his ability to detect when he himself is being used. He's also a great climber.

Dahliapaw

She is Egretdapple's daughter, making her currently the only Heir to the House. She is a Warrior Apprentice, with her mentor being her father.

She is 10 moons, so her father is hoping she will be made a warrior soon, though whether or not that will happen remains to be seen. She's pretty cold and disinterested in her clanmates, opposed to her father, who is a bit of a snake in the way he tries to keep a good relationship with everyone. She also is quick witted, though she usually only uses that wit to sass and snark.

House Valor - BloodClan

The third house in BloodClan! They are an elective absolute cognatic house, so the position of Head of House will pass to whichever heir is voted in.

They do not approve of concubines and frown upon the practice both in and out of their house.

The current two members are:

Duskspeck

He is the Patriarch and Head of House. He is also a Warrior.

He is 59 moons, making him the youngest Head of House in BloodClan. He's daring, which can get him into some trouble with the other Heads, and a great teacher. He's also an incredible runner.

Sleetjump

She is Duskspeck's mate and therefore the Matriarch. He is currently a Warrior.

At 16 moons, the age gap between her and husband is significant. The two get along well enough, but there is currently no love between them; it was a marriage of convenience for the sake of establishing their house. She is bold and, like her husband, an incredible runner. Despite her age, she also has proved to have helpful insight to provide when Duskspeck is making decisions, though she largely stays out of his way as opposed to trying to get much power for herself.

House Flame - BloodClan

The second house in BloodClan! They are a patrilineal house, but the Head of House position will only be passed to a new heir once all other eligible heirs at that time have either surrendered or died.

Males are allowed to take concubines (though typically any more than two concubines is frowned upon), but females are not.

The current two members are:

Rowanfur

He is the Patriarch and Head of House. He is also the clan's eldest Warrior at 85 moons.

At this point in time, he's also fairly well-liked among the other Head of Houses, though they also know he can be a great storyteller (liar). He is eager to gain more power for his house and is not incredibly concerned with how he gets it, causing some of his clanmates brand him as bloodthirsty.

Podmeadow

She is Rowanfur's mate and therefore the Matriarch. She is currently a Warrior.

She is 69 moons, making her and Rowanfur the closest in age out of all of BloodClan's current married couples. She is generally seen as softer and kinder than her husband, particularly because she's considered a good teacher. However, she herself is quite troublesome, she's just very clever and knows how to meddle and manipulate in less overt ways. She is fully supportive of him and his endeavors, doing what she can to help behind the scenes.

House Eloquence - BloodClan

The first house in BloodClan! They are a strict primogeniture matrilineal house, so the position of Head of House will always pass to the eldest female heir.

For the most part, taking concubines is disallowed in the house, unless a female is taking her husband's brother as a concubine.

The current two members are:

Mumblestar

She is the Matriarch and Head of House. As BloodClan's current Leader, she also gets a second vote at council meetings.

At 146 moons, she is the eldest Head of House in BloodClan and generally well-liked, probably because she's considered a great speaker. She is, however, rather strict.

Beequill

He is Mumblestar's mate and therefore the Patriarch. He is currently a Medicine Cat.

He is almost half Mumblestar's age at 75 moons, and though he claims to have married her for love, there are some rumors and accusations that it was purely for power and status. He is responsible, an eloquent speaker, and a talented swimmer.

BloodClan - Blood Blonds Challenge Attempt #1

I haven't tried many ClanGen challenges before, so I'm trying out the "Blood Bonds" challenge and thought it'd be fun to document it on a side blog. ^-^

I struggled to think of a name for the clan itself, so I named it BloodClan just so it'd stick out as the one I was doing a challenge with among all my other saves (woops for the edgy name lol)
