Her Majesty, Kweemydas, Mother of All Salmonids, has sent me across an ocean I could never dream of to get me here to you.

I am The Skybound Traveler of Tranquil Seas, The Messenger of Kweemydas and Servant to All Pinkfish.

Or if that’s too much for you to chew, Sky works perfectly fine! I go by she/it pronouns as well.

Her Majesty has requested that I made my appearance to the creatures of the land in Her honor to help lead both Inkfish and Pinkfish recover and come together in celebration of the cycle!

Her Majesty has also has sent me visions of another Goldie… one with strange patterns… and I intend to find it, as I feel as if it is important to Her plans.

Please feel free to ask me anything, I am here to help our people, both of them, as one of us cannot exist without the other, and the sooner we can both learn this, the sooner we can all banish the power of the Harbinger entirely!

Asking anonymously since I know a lot of people check what I have to say.

So I’m a salmonid and despite me feeling like I don’t really have any reason to be significant to my tribe, I’m apparently viewed as someone who is like a leader, even if we don’t have an official leader, I’m viewed as a somewhat important figure.

I do my best to try and have support but it’s tricky to know just how much is expected of me, if that makes sense.

I’m also currently working with people on something involving the deepsea metro, and the salmonids may even assist depending on what needs to be done.

I know people look up to me right now, and I guess I am afraid of not properly being able to handle that responsibility. If something goes wrong, people are going to look to me for advice.

It’s not that I don’t have a support system either. I know I have people willing to listen to me. Willing to encourage me. Willing to be rational when I have an idea that’s too complicated.

I guess it’s just a lot. I don’t even get overwhelmed this easily, but I want to keep myself in check. It will only be more difficult if I don’t take care of myself

Being looked up to nerve wracking! I can understand how stressful it can be. I always find it helpful to practice meditation! Find a nice dark place, lay on the ground and focus on your breathing!

And if you have any concerns you’d like guidance too, meditating on them is a great way for Kweemydas herself to bring you revelations. Anyone can talk to her, she never minds listening, but make sure you are paying attention, because she tends to answer in non typical ways.

As long as you are taking care of yourself and using your support system as needed, you will turn out alright in the end. Kweemydas is so proud of you, and so am I.

A stranger chirped in salmonese.

“I was told there was a Salmonid down here, and I wanted to talk to you. I am a Messenger of Kweemydas. I am safe. I even brought some dried seaweed I made earlier for you.”

After a few silent moments, Rot poked his head out of the vending machine he was hiding in. He picked up his rusty pan.

“I-“ he stared in awe for a moment, before shaking his head. “It’s very unsafe for you down here. You stick out and I don’t want to know what they would do to a Goldie.” He whispered back in the same language, glancing back and fourth down the hall.

“I am aware of the dangers of this place. Do not worry, I am protected by Her Majesty, Kweemydas, Mother of All Salmonids. She shall shield me. I am here to give you Her Love. I want to help you.” She chirped.

“Alright. How do you even know about me? Most are scared of me and don’t even bother to follow me? Please make it quick. This place is not one to mess with” he stared down the hall, drawing his pan as if he expected something to come out.

“Word of mouth and some guidance from Her Majesty herself. Like I said, I am a Messenger of Kweemydas. I want to try and heal you.”

“… heal?” He hesitated, looking down at the fin rot. “I don’t know how much you can do, but even reducing it a little would help. Right now not even the earth would want to eat me, seeing that I can’t currently die.” He put bluntly. He coughed up some glowing blue mucus. “The sanitized ink is part of me now.” He cleared his throat. “Not much can be done.”

“I know it won’t be perfect, but I can assure you that you’ll be edible, and get to progress in the cycle. You have not been abandoned, Her Majesty still cares about you, and she apologizes for not being able to come quicker.”

Rot’s eyes widened. He didn’t fully believe it, but it’s a chance he had to take. “… ok. I trust you, Miss.” he whispered, stepping closer to Skybound Traveler. “Don’t know how I’ve reached this point. You’re only the second salmonid to ever try to help me instead of being afraid.” He stated, looking down at the ground.

“Oh… you poor soul… I can see why you’re so scared. It’s alright. I can take most of the rot away.” She smiled as her fins started glowing, creating a large orb of light, she lifted the orb above Rot’s head letting it sprinkle down to the ground.

It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely a great improvement.

“Now you only look as bad as a scarred warrior, but you wear those scars with pride, for you fought one of the bravest battles I’ve seen. And know, that the fillet inside you is as fresh as your soul is strong.”

Rot felt a surge of energy spread through him. A lot of the places where the mold had grown looked much more like pale scars and unhealed injuries. He still seemed to salivate a lot, but at least perhaps he could live out the rest of his life. “Thank you… being eaten by the earth is better than being trapped in a state between life and death. Maybe I can enjoy my time left.” He smiled. The glowing substance seemed to continue to leak from his eyes and mouth, but not nearly as much as it was.

“Of course, please know that no matter what, you’ll always return to the cycle. It’s only a manner of time, please enjoy the rest of your time on top of the cycle and then you can when you dive beneath the waves, Her Majesty will be waiting for you.”

Before he could say thanks, sounds of octotroopers patrolling were heard. “Follow me! They won’t follow us in the water.” He called, leading the Goldie to a small room. Looked like some sort of pump. “I’m warning you, this stuff is the nastiest water you’ve smelt. However I’ve used it to get out in a pinch. Come on.” He gnawed on a part of it, causing a hatch to open. Without hesitation, he dived in, assuming that Skybound Traveler would follow.

And follow she did. Nasty water was no match for her!

She was just happy to help another Pinkfish.
