Ordered my first prime (maybe my only prime) last night

After talking it over with TJ, the staff photographer at work who last year switched his work gear from Nikon to Sony (he still uses the D800 in the studio but now his go to for event photography is the a7rIII), I ordered the Zeiss T* FE 55mm f/1.8 last night. It is highly rated (Ken Rockwell loves it), even though DP recommended the FE 50mm F1.4 ZA just a bit more than the 55mm in a comparison review. I like the idea of having a lighter lens, and the difference between the two does not seem to be that great. 

Now I am wondering if eventually this new prime will replace my 24-105 mm f4 zoom that I love so much and become my “fixed lens.”
