Isadoris and Aurelius

Cicero and Isadoris

I’m about to explain THE WHOLE lore to Isadoris so if you don’t want to read, turn back now! Okay, so anyway: Isadoris (representing Ophelia as this is a Roman adaptation of Hamlet) was a slave boy and half brother to a senator’s daughter (Calpurnia) who was the mad Roman prince’s (Aurelius who is Hamlet) wife. Unfortunately, in an episode of insanity, Aurelius drowned Calpurnia while she was pregnant. Years passed and Isadoris developed a tumour, the same kind that killed his mother, a Cappadocian slave. He begged his father, the senator (Paulinus, Polonius) to take him to an infirmary to have it removed. Paulinus reluctantly agreed but while in the infirmary, Aurelius (mad from his father’s recent death) enters and as his sense of time is skewed, he mistakes Isadoris as Calpurnia as they have similar features due to being half siblings and thinks the tumour is his baby. Paulinus, because he is evil, takes advantage of this and dresses Isadoris up as Calpurnia and forces him to play the role. Isadoris refuses and tries to explain to Aurelius that he is not Cal, that he is not a woman, and he has a tumour that is slowly killing him. Aurelius refuses to believe anything he says in his narcissistic madness. (There is also a side plot with Vito the Physician, Osric, who’s attempting to help Isadoris not die). Eventually, Isadoris manages to take advantage of his situation and convinces Aurelius to do what he wants and all that which angers Aurelius’ mother (Diana, Gertrude) and there’s a whole thing I won’t get into right now. Cicero (Horatio), an old friend of Aurelius, who is aware of the madness and the situation and is also a Jewish twinky asshole (short black hair) tries to ‘comfort’ Isadoris in his situation and they develop a situationship. Yet he has a very ‘treat the symptoms, not the source’ mindset, because he secretly loves Aurelius and eventually sleeps with Aurelius. Obviously, that angers Isadoris! Drama ensues… 👀 That’s all I’m sharing right now because I’ll be surprised if anyone read this at all 😭
