Oh look, my animation.
Check it out. That's a pretty sweet photo, you might say. Well yes. Yes it is. What is it, you might ask? Well, it's none other than my final photo of my final model (in it's final form).
Followed up, we've got some sketches exploring my form.
Here you can see my final pattern.
Brief
I'm half-american half-kiwi, so I explored themes of individualism and the roadtrip while recognizing that each nationality has a tie to being out in nature, or at least in my personal experience. I embraced the Western as a strong symbol of the American identity, but decided to mix representing a horse with a more modern steed - the motorcycle (i.e. "Iron Horse") - as commonly accepted as a last cry of American rebel attitude and counter-culture; a last shout for individualistic freedom, if you will. I found travelling to be a strong link between American (what with it's roadtrip and highway mentality - seriously, if you don't own a car in America, you'd better live in a city if you want to go ANYwhere) and Kiwi culture (kiwis sterotypically love spending time outside, or so they say). Representing a motorcycle would be complex and an abstraction of the object itself would risk losing recognition across a wide audience, so instead I'll just do the tread marks left by a motorcycle in the dirt. As a last note, for me, the character of the old west cowboy typifies the loner and self-reliant, probably a pinacle of indivudualism and thus a strong tie into the threads of an American Identiy for a lot of its citizens.
So here's some stuff for Project 2; storyboards, pattern drafting, window drawings, patterns from around mah wurrrld and mah clothing. You even get more in the next post.
Yea so I dunno why it wouldn't load from my computer/home last night. Our internet has been funky since we set it up 2 months ago.
As well, the brief doesn't say to write anything. Describing the creative process is fine, but the logo itself...
Caritas Logo, you doin' a yoyo...
Great, my Caritas Logo images won't upload after 4 hours. I'll just try to get them up in the morning, sorry.
Test. Rather outrageously shit, really.
