«Hi, Skylynx! My designation is Bevel. I found it on the DataNet.»
A young one, like Sawtooth. Skylynx would have to be slightly less dour then. Key word: slightly.
<< Hello, Bevel. I see...is there any particular reason you decided to call me then? >>
::Thank you Sky Lynx. Â And any friend of âKingâs is a friend of mine too. Â A pleasure to make your acquaintence.::
::Wait, if youâre not on CybertronâŠwhere are you?::
<< I am on Earth at the Autobots' base here. The exact location is classified however. >>
::Sky Lynx? Â Well thatâs a surprise, I thought you sounded familiar:: Heâs thinking of another one though. Â Multiversal shenanigans, you know the drill. Â ::Whatâs up? Â Howâs Cybertron?::
« Cybertron? I would not know for I have never been. »
This one had quite the familiar tone with him. He didnât like it.
«You still havenât stated your designation, stranger. »
::Hm? Â Oh right, where are my manners. Â Iâm Riou. Â I uhhhh, know Predaking. Â I assume youâve met Predaking, right?::
Ah so he knew his King.Â
<< Yes of course, he is akin to a brother to me. I suppose any ally of Predaking's is an ally of mine, Riou. >>
::Sky Lynx? Â Well thatâs a surprise, I thought you sounded familiar:: Heâs thinking of another one though. Â Multiversal shenanigans, you know the drill. Â ::Whatâs up? Â Howâs Cybertron?::
<< Cybertron? I would not know for I have never been. >>
This one had quite the familiar tone with him. He didn't like it.
<<You still haven't stated your designation, stranger. >>
blue-and-black-hero said:Â
::Hm? I wasnât looking for anyone in particular. Whoâs this?::
Had he not just said-? Very well.Â
<< This is Skylynx. Who is this? >>

Although Skylynx had been told not to touch the Autobots' computer array he supposed he would be allowed to touch it if there was an incoming call and no one else was around.
<< Greetings, this is Skylynx speaking. If you're looking for the Autobots I'm sorry to tell you but they're not in right now. >>
Character development time! Give me some interesting questions about my character and I will answer.

Skylynx was still getting used to communicating with others in general let alone getting a call via comm. link. At first he wasn't entirely sure what the pinging had been, he'd never really used his comm. link until fairly recently after all. Finally - and rather dourly - he answered it.Â
<< You've reached Skylynx. Now then, who are you and how did you get this frequency? >>

If anything, the wiggling only encouraged Predaking to hold on longer. The hunterâs instincts took control and he kept his âpreyâ pinned and trapped like a squirming worm on a hook. A low growl built in the back of his vocoder as the other smacked him in the faceplates, but he wasnât going to admit defeat over something so small. It wasnât until the other was good and frustrated that he finally let him go.
Well, nothing was going to stop him from a display of who was in charge! The predaconâs growl deepened and dropped into a hunch, tail swishing dangerously as if he was about to leap. But he didnât, even if the urge for play was growing by the second.
There were other concerns. The predacons helm whipped around and he scented the air, smelling something coming. It was still faint, but⊠Ah yes! His allies. His stance relaxed slightly and he stood up to his full height, letting out a mighty roar that echoed across the distance to let him know of their victory here.
'Brother, come with me. You will get nowhere by wandering these deserts,' Predaking added, not so much a suggestion as an order. 'Unless you would prefer to burn in a worthless fight, that is. I can give you a hunt with real meaning.'
Finally free Skylynx stretched out his once captured limb a bit and gave Predaking a rather unamused face. Predaking was certainly like a big newspark, although he was older than him he doubted it was by much. When the other whipped their head around and let out a roar Skylynx watched him with curiousness. When he spoke the younger predacon tilted his helm for a moment.Â
A hunt with real meaning? What did he mean by that? Well if anything Skylynx was certainly curious. The predacon took a whiff of the air as well as if it would somehow enlighten him to what he might be getting into. There were others he could smell, not predacons, but others. Just what kind of allies had Predaking been making? Were these even allies at all? So many questions, his inner curious nature needed to be satisfied.
'Very well,' Skylynx replied- having a feeling that it was more of an order than anything anyway, 'Lead the way, brother.' He bowed his head in a gesture for the regal predacon to show him what he was talking about.Â
H-hello, other... Um, lizard thing? I hope y-you're nicer than the other lizard t-thing!
"How nice I am to you depends mostly on how nice you are to me. Now then, what is this other 'lizard thing' you speak of?"

Predaking was going to take this opportunity to collapse to the ground and sniff at the twisted frames of the now-deceased miners. He was hoping to smell some whiff of Shockwave or one of his other chief enemies on them, but he was sadly disappointed. He always held out hope he would stumble across the scientist in a secret lab again, if only so he could make the past right, but today would not be the day that he razed his greatest enemy.
Huffing, the predacon reached down and took one of the corpses in his massive maw. Crunch, snap, shriek. Prime never would have allowed him to chew on a corpse if he was here, but he wasnât, was he? The predacon took no effort to actually swallow the dead mecha. It wasnât the frame that interested him.
The energon from the dead minerâs bled and dripped into the predacons mouth. Now that was what he was interested in. A survival skill inherited from his ancestors, Predaking was capable of recycling the energon from otherâs lines. Once the corpse was drained, his helm whipped around to throw it against the walls of the cliff.
His bright-burning optics turned to watch the mouth of the cave, waiting expectantly. No Shockwave, but he hadnât failed today. He had captured the mine as ordered and he had also found something infinitely more precious. Something precious that was taking much too long having his supper.
Predaking rolled back to his pedes and snaked his helm into the cavern. He chittered to the other, and then like a playful and impatient youngster (which he was), he tried to gently bite his hind leg and pull him back out into the open.
Skylynx gave a squawk of surprise as he was gently bitten and pulled backwards. Turning his helm around to look at the other he gave a chitter of his own to the other. What an impatient child this Predaking was. Oddly enough Skylynx was somehow younger than he.Â
The predacon was no newcomer to dealing with such childlike behaviors however. The one other predacon that he had initially saved had been the clone of a much younger predacon, not full grown like most of them. The difference between that little predacon and Predaking was that Predaking here was fully grown and larger than he. Skylynx simply found it easier for the moment to allow himself to be dragged along rather than try to fight it. Although he did give the other predacon a few playful smacks to the faceplates with his tail.Â
The energon he had consumed would be enough to last him a short while at least. Now with another predacon around it might be easier to find energon than ever before so maybe he didn't really have to worry any longer about where his next feast would come from. Predaking certainly seemed healthy enough after all.
Skylynx wiggled his captured limb a bit in an attempt to free himself. He was getting somewhat tired of being dragged about like dead weight as fun as that was. While he did have his own moments of childishness they were not so often as they might've been. He had to mature quite fast to survive and take care of another little predacon and then when he was gone he had to remain mature to make sure he himself survived. He had little time for fun and games.Â

Predakingâs spark leaped in his chestplates. His sniffing became even more intent; if there was any lies in this mechaâs words, he would search it out. But⊠nothing. He smelled clean, as if he really had little to no interaction with Cybertronians. Satisfied, Predaking took a step back and gave the other predacon some space to vent.
His words alone would never have been enough to convince him of the truth of his assertion, but his actions had screamed much louder. Predaking had watched as the other tore to shreds their mutual enemy, had hunted with him. That had already formed a bond that could not be denied.
'My designation is Predaking, the first of the new wave of predacons. I stood in the rubble as our brethern were murdered. I smelled the scent of death upon them and fed their frames to the fire as is appropriate. I did⊠If I had known⊠I did not smell the scent of anyone living there. If I had knownâŠ'
He would have done something. He had failed. Predakingâs stance slouched and he took a step back, allowing Skylynx room to pass. 'Feast, brother,' he ordered.
Predaking? Well that wasn't pretentious at all. Skylynx resisted the urge to roll his optics at the the other predacon. He'd keep those thoughts to himself, right now all he wanted was the freshly mined energon, 'Do not fret, Predaking.' He assured his newfound brother simply. He had been hardly venting and alive during that time himself- he doubted any others could have survived beyond the small one he saved.Â
As Predaking stepped back he almost wanted to growl at him for his ordering tone. Still he was going to feast regardless so he wouldn't say anything to his... King. Bah!Â
Skylynx walked past the larger predacon and into the cavern. The scent of the miners still lingered - he could have even sworn he smelt one living straggler somewhere in the mine as well - however the scent of energon was enough to mask whatever was left of those weaklings. He ambled over to a cart full of energon crystals and buried his beak within, chewing up what he could. Unlike most cybertronians predacons were able to consume large amounts of unprocessed energon safely. It was something to do with their super-heated cores.Â
He felt starved, likely because he hadn't eaten in a long while. It took time to track down these mines after all, he couldn't just walk into one whenever he felt hungry. Without realizing it he devoured all the energon crystals that were in the cart ravenously.Â

'Indeed, and most of them are fools,' Predaking snapped, his processors turning back to all the predacons that continued to work with Shockwave and his ilk. How they could even call themselves predacons, he did not know. The word he would have put to it was mindless slaves too blind to see the impending destruction in front of their optics. No matter how many times he warnedâŠ
Predakingâs growls became more ferocious at the memories of all the predacons he had encountered, all the mecha who had proved to be disappointments. There were a few who defied the norm, but they seemed to be rare finds.
'Skylynx. And what are you? Are you a fool, too?' he growled. His helm snaked forwards, pressing into the otherâs personal space. His biolights pulsed as he prepared to call his fire, just in case this little encounter turned south. And yet he stayed himself for that small hope⊠This one didnât smell of the betrayers, that much was also on his side. Predaking sniffed the other predacon intently as he awaited his answer.
'Where do you fit into this puzzle?'Â Possibly Decepticon still, even with what he had just seen. It didnât make much sense, but Predaking was aware that the Decepticons were infamous for killing their own. He had had to experience that firsthand.
As the predacon got ever closer Skylynx backed up as much as the space would allow, which wasn't very much at all. He could feel the heat radiating off the other as he edged his snout into his personal space, 'Hardly. I am no fool, I am a survivor.'Â He asserted.Â
'I was born in a cavern much like this one, in an incubation tube. My earliest memories are of my brethren and I being attacked before we could even truly begin our lives. It was chaos but I managed to escape my attackers with one other. Shortly after that I lost him...I've been living a solitary existence since - scrounging for energon and killing any who might spread word of my existence.'Â
' Although I do not know who attacked my brethren I refuse to take any chances. ' He hoped this condensed version of his tale would suffice to explain himself and his action enough to satisfy this predacon. They certainly had the domineering personality to match their large frame. Just who did they think they were?Â
Still backed up into a corner he dared to ask another question of his own, 'Now then. What shall I call you, brother?'

Well, that had gone well. The dragon came out of his crouch and watched through smoldering, orange optics as the stranger did what he couldnât. How he desired to join in the fight, to grab these creatures in his jaws and soak the ground with their energon, butâŠ
Whenever one of the vehicons tried to run away from the wrath of the unknown predacon, Predakingâs helm whipped into their path and frightened them back with a ferocious roar. Not one of these beasts was going to get away, and it was satisfying to feel their frames crunching under his massive pedes. The battle continued for several minutes until the last of the miners had perished or fled back into the mine, where they would be trapped until Predaking sniffed them out.
At least that battle. Predaking rose to his full height and slowly stalked towards the other predacon. Whether they had fought together or not only moments ago, the boundaries had not been settled and defined. Mandibles twitching, Predaking growled at the other and snapped the air, trying to herd him back and corner him until they had a chance to talk.
'Who are you and what are you doing here?'Â Predaking demanded as he loomed over the smaller predacon.
Skylynx lowered his helm in a display of submission and backed up as the other approached him. As easy as it had been to dispose of the miners he still didn't have the strength to fight such a large predacon. Instead he would make an ally out of him, there was strength in numbers after all. When he was finally cornered and looking submissive enough he responded.
'I am Skylynx, I was here in search of energon to sustain myself.'Â He nodded his helm in the direction of the mine. His actions were merely that of instinct and survival- that's all. He assumed the other would understand that if he had trespassed into the other's territory without knowing.Â
The predacon lifted his helm up slightly, he supposed it couldn't hurt to ask a question of his own, 'Tell me, brother, are there more of us out there?' Before he even dared to ask the other's name he had to know the state of the rest of the predacons, perhaps more escaped than just he and the other little one. Perhaps even the other little one had found this predacon.Â
Regardless he needed to know if they were the only two to survive.Â
