"And now again, the choice is yours, Arisen."
I know I don’t have my followers, but at least one of you guys has to be gamer.
Anyone got Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen??
<nerd nrant> I loved Dragon’s Dogma. Favorite class is Assassin/ Magick Archer - I prefer bows and daggers. I’m currently lvl 116. beat that shit like 5 or 6 times. Beat Speedrun Mode in just under 2hrs. And I think I beat it on Hard Mode… (I say think because I stopped playing in the middle of Hard Mode - which is where DA picked up the game. But I’m not sure if I played it all the way through before.)
Anywho, I just picked up DA and it started where I left off on Hard Mode right after the Griffon’s Bane quest. So naturally, I put on my best gear and weapons and headed to Cassardis’ pier and waited for nightfall.Â
My pawn and I have spent over 48hrs on Bitterblack Isle. We’ve seen monsters and horrors the likes of which you could only dream. Support pawns come and go with every step. And Death is literally right on our tail, scythe in one hand, lantern in the other, following us, breathing his foul, rancid breath down our necks. My arrows are useless. This entire island is an underground labyrinth and the deeper you go, the worse the nightmares become. Even with the help of Olra and Barroc, we’re running out of curatives and we’ll have find a way out soon. </nerd rant>
TL;DR:
Bitterblack Isle is kicking my ass. I started on Hard Mode, gave that up and even on Normal mode I’m getting my ass handed to me. I’m running out of curatives and urhbvuhgjnjhebfÂ
It’s almost 5am I’ve been up since noon yesterday and I’m going on my 3rd day of yelling, swearing, screaming, throwing the controller, eating cold pizza and coffee, sitting in old pjs, not showering, rage quitting fury. I think I’m scaring my boyfriend.Â
Anyone got tips or advice? I’m on a ps3 if anyone wants to loan me their pawn. Even if you wanna just talk about the game, I’m all for it. Regardless of class, I can’t get arrows to work on bosses.
This is an old post but for anyone who is surfing the Dragon’s Dogma tag: In my experience, the way to win in BBI is: 1. Enjoy the skill enhancer rings that come with the game. Whether it’s Blitz Strike, Shearing Wind, or Grand Ingle, you’ll really rack up damage even if you literally go in at level 6 with starter gear
2. Follow the BB weapons. The chest in Midnight Helix that’s, when you go up the stairs in the main room, you turn right instead of left towards the bridges, and go down the tunnel... the big chest often has a BB1 weapon. In the Vault of Defiled Truth, if you, instead of going straight out into the cockatrice room, keep going down the hallway to the left, you can jump on a ledge to the right at the dead end. Follow this path into the jail cell-ish area with 3 cells; the big chest tends to have BB1. These weapons are of Everfall-ish quality and fall just short of the Grigori weapons.
BB2 is when you tend to make it big. If you rush to the Warrior’s Respite, you can get a Moonbeam Gem from behind Barroch’s head on a ledge, then use it in Duskmoon Tower to either get a Dragon’s Ire or Dragon’s Glaze. If those don’t work for you, the easiest way IMO is to safespot that Condemned Gorecyclops in the Midnight Helix, who has a chance to drop an unidentified BB2 weapon. BB2 weapons are better than anything outside of BBI.
3. Want some easy levels? Do you do a fair amount of fire/holy damage at a distance? Kill all the spiders and snakes in the far end of the Duskmoon Tower (near the Rotunda of Dread door), and while you’re there, put down a Rancid Bait Meat. This may summon a Cursed Dragon. Just stay where you are and shoot your strongest attack at the dragon’s heart when it flies up. Repeat until dead. When the Cursed Dragon starts charging up its special attack at half health and lower, just walk back to the Rotunda door; the projectiles can’t hit you that far away. I know of no other Cursed Dragon location that completely protects you like this. Enjoy the freakish experience/Rift Crystals/Dragonforgings!Â
i’d best figure out why OBS lags intermittently at completely random times, before I move on to gael
There hasn’t been a boss video in a while, but not from lack of trying
lol. was so tired of the whole recording thing that i was fighting two demons/demon prince without recording (so i could listen to music in the background without it messing more with OBS) and i accidentally won. so no video for that... in the meantime have a horrible daimon fight. close enough?
champion’s gravetender is down but something is wrong with the video and it won’t play, so i had to scrap it :( i’m glad this didn’t happen with friede, and i hope this doesn’t happen again - it’s only tough bosses from here on out!
oww
the recent elemental weapon buff is kinda terrifying
hi

hi
SL1 High lord Wolnir NG
what a loser
Dark Souls 3 SL1 NG Deacons of the Deep. I’ve been utterly unable to predict which things would be hard for me in SL1 - the Deacons are a piece of cake when you have a Carthus Curved Sword that you can swing 12 times in a row, but not with this lesser firepower. This boss is the hardest challenge for me thus far in SL1 NG, but I have the feeling that the Abyss Watchers will be worse.
Here we go! Finally, instead of just me clobbering some behemoth to death like everyone else does, I get to use fun camerawork. I got very lucky here, for the mage seemed reluctant to teleport (and spawn 3 more clones) as long as he had that last soulmass hanging in the air. But even that caused another dilemma: Do I just go full aggressive in an attempt to defeat the boss before he spawns clones, or do I behave normally and face the pain of yet another set of quadruplets? This time, I went with the former. “Rushing things” with bosses in this game is generally a bad idea, but it’s just how it happened. It may seem as if I’m blindly mashing at the boss without even paying heed to the boss’s melee attacks, but instead I’m having a SL1 problem: With hardly any stamina to speak of, every roll I did would put my attacks to a screeching halt for a while. Thankfully, I was able to dodge the last soulmass just by walking under it, and that was the match. I really hope that things continue to be this fun from here on out!
