The Life & Times Of Frida Kahlo (2005) dir. by Amy Stechler // Frida Kahlo from an unsent letter to Diego Rivera
Can’t wait for US liberals to get angry about Trump excluding Trans people from the military instead of realizing it’s a great way to dodge the draft
There are approximately 15,000 trans people currently serving in the military. We realize that dodging the draft is a possible “upside,” but taking men and women who have stuck out their necks to serve their county and kicking them to the curb is immoral and disrespectful to our troops. There was not enough information to back the existence of a financial burden. Blocking the government funding of srs is understandable, but banning all trans men and women is not. You are not allowing healthy, able bodied people who are willing to serve their country the opportunity to do so based on the circumstances of their birth. That is not beneficial to our military or to the US people. Respect your troops.
the US military is a terrorist organization brutally enforcing a globe-spanning empire whose bases foment human trafficking to supply your precious’ troops rapacious appetites (not satisfied with assaulting each other, apparently).
That’s like saying it’s okay to ban black people from the military because it doesn’t fit your political agenda. Your idea of what the military is does not define it, the people in it, or those who wish to serve. This is a basic right that every individual should have.
“Your idea of what the military is does not define it, [some clumsy use of anaphora to appear detailed or deep but is actually just pretentious and shallow] ”
and yet
“#the military is not terrorism”
hm
If we didn’t have the military we would not be able to defend ourselves against anything, let alone terrorism. And “appearing deep” has nothing to do with it, it’s about allowing people who wish to do something the ability to do so.
I know that all power flows out of the barrel of a gun, or military in this case, and it’s nice to see liberals come out and admit that their state and all the attendant beliefs that sustain it are nothing more than the effect of power.
but the counterfeit version of freedom you subscribe to, that people should wish to do whatever they want, is juvenile at best but dangerous at worse. I’m not going to waste my time explaining why, it should be pretty fucking obvious why it’s a bad idea for anyone that isn’t just some herd animal, but i just want anyone reading this to take a look at how you talk to everyone presupposing they benefit from the American imperialism you refer to when you talk about “defending ourselves,” as if America “defends” itself when in reality it’s a hyperaggressive war machine that crushes everything in its path and all it has to show for it is sentient cattle like this. that’s what they’re defending, the pinnacle of twenty thousand years of tool use lol
You know when you go to a museum with a friend and it’s understood that you don’t have to stand side by side in front of every canvas? You can move at different speeds, occupy different corners, get separated, and it’s fine and relaxing because somehow when it’s time to leave, you’ll find each other. My favorite type of writing is like that, where it drifts in and out of different rooms, and sometimes ideas get lost or sentences sort of wander or drop off and the meanings and senses of things get separated, but it doesn’t matter. Like how after the museum, you can walk for a few blocks with your friend in silence, not pressed to speak.

Orange Cat: [unfriendly/somewhat sharp meow]
Second cat slowly looks at the camera.
Man, filming, bashfully and sounding somewhat frightened: Sorry!
I’ve never fuckin seen a cat move like that, and it feels so goddamn eerie.

But police just “PEACEFULLY” remove a group of KKK bandits from a protest..
This wouldn’t of happened in an all white party, police brutality and injustice has been a problem for us black people for a long time. They way they handle situations with us is clearly very different than with white people. Our people are being killed just for the color of our skin and that’s not ok! America’s police force is fueled by racism and hatred. The worst part of this is it’s nothing new.
That’s black girl magic ✨ who is she tho ? 😍
