How are your projects coming along? Do you guys think you will ever podcast again?
Right now I know Pru is swamped, so idk about her, but I wouldn’t rule us out for podcasting! For me, I’m working on a book (Urban fantasy mystery romance set in Toronto) and I’ve got about 58k down and need 10-20k left to finish it, I think. SO CLOSE.
...then the hard part is obvi finding an agent, etc etc etc. But I think it’ll be really good! I have some friends audiencing it and they like it and tell me when I’m being dumb, so. :P
I miss you guys so much - there just isn't another podcast quite like yours! I'm scrolling through your back catalog and giggled when I saw the Person of Interest episode because I remembered MK and "RIVAL BILLIONAIRES????" I think I may have to listen to that one again!

I'd like you to know that after many years of listening with bemused amusement as you guys ranted about Hawaii 5-0, I finally sat down to watch this ish on Netflix and now I spend roughly a third of these episodes clutching my face and shrieking 'WHAT AM I WATCHING WHAT JUST HAPPENED'. So, I just wanted you guys to know that, like, I finally /get it/.
It really is one of those things you have to see to believe - it is nigh impossible to explain certain shows to people

i checked around (but let me know if i missed something), but i wanted to ask what hardware/software you guys used to record the podcast? i've been looking into making something with a (remote) friend, but i'm not sure what the best approach is!
MK used Garage Band and Pru used Audacity for editing. By the end, we recorded separate tracks and wore headphones during takes, and then merged the two tracks into an edit file so it was easier to cut out noise/mistakes!

If anal, during the Jin Dynasty China would have been teaming with all kinds of face creams and fragrant oils in addition to your old run-of-the-mill cooking oils. During the Tang Dynasty (about 100 years later) it's recorded that the Emperor would provide face creams to his government officials as part of their salary. Can provide citations.
lube part2: aside from using oils for lube there were also plant mucilage: Dioscorea polystacha (a type of yam) produces a thick slippery goo when mashed or rubbed and has the perk of looking like unshaved legs and due to its common use in cooking and "chinese medicine" is unlikely to arouse suspicion (if plot requires it). Again safe for anal only. This yam is introduced to Japan in the 1700s and use for lube is recorded there. don't judge me. I just want fic writer to be happy ok. Jin Dynasty stories are hard to find. Being in both Teen Wolf and SPN fandom, Teen Wolf fandom is definitely much better at leaving kudos than SPN. I'm not sure if it's because Teen Wolf fandom has only really used AO3 as a fic platform and SPN lived on other platforms like LJ and The Pit and just ignore the kudos button, but SPN is terrible with leaving kudos. By looking at the rankings of AO3 works by kudos, a layman would assume 90% of the site is Sterek fic, with very little anything else.
