Honoring all who gave their lives for our country on this beautiful Memorial Day and everyday. On April 29th, I participated in @Carrytheload ’s National Relay. This relay is composed of 3 legs of walking, biking, canoeing, and driving. The leg I participated in began in West Point. Another began in Minneapolis and the last in Seattle. All three journeys merged at the Dallas Memorial March yesterday and events will continue throughout today. Carry the Load is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of the sacrifices made by military, veterans, first responders, and their families. They raise funds for non-profit partners that provide healing services for the minds, bodies, and souls of these brave men and women. They additionally assist with financial hardships of those fallen in the line of duty. I look forward to continuing my support of this great organization and our nation’s heroes. Remember them. Honor them. And volunteer if you can! https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx-TfFelxUz/?igshid=13mkzppufcaes
I’m proud to announce I have completed NAMI Homefront training! NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers, and friends of those who have served or are currently serving our country. I am grateful for this opportunity to learn so much about the complexities of mental illness, crisis management, resources and treatments available, caregiving, and the impact of it all on family dynamics. This class created a safe place in my personal life and I will be able to apply what I’ve learned to my future professional career in Human Resources/Industrial Psych. I look forward to further advocating for service members, their family members, and their care. If you have any questions about the program, please don’t hesitate to ask me! - #namihomefront #nami #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx2an2glMjc/?igshid=1tm7cbdhr2qrc
This is where I say goodbye to social media until further notice. I will no longer compound the trauma I’ve endured the past year. Last month, I moved away from my home due to my partner’s escalating abuse, cheating, and addiction, only to further experience loss in the form of a miscarriage (which commonly happens and we should talk more openly about). I have been informed I have already been “replaced” in just a few short weeks. I can’t begin to rationalize this behavior. Mental illness doesn’t diminish your accountability for your actions. That being said, I am working with professionals to own my PTSD, anxiety, and mental health as a result of this experience. I am trying to regain my sense of self back after this isolation. I am taking care of the family he abandoned and conveniently omitted to so many. I am constantly reminding myself we are not disposable. And that we will be ok. Although we have done nothing but love him, it will never be sufficient in his current state and therefore should allocate that kindness back to ourselves. Hence, this act of self preservation. This account will not be monitored, but I will leave it standing as a testament that I gave only the best of me. If you have questions about your mental health call 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) If you are in crisis call 1-800-273-TALK Take care, friends. I love you. Slow fade.
Every morning, we take care of the plants together.

Happy Dad’s Day to the man who taught me how to repair so much around the house, ride a bike, balance a checkbook, and to always try to do the right thing. You’re the best, Bob. (at The Beacon Theatre)
Our family and hearts grew a bit over the past 4 days. Everyone, meet Mayday. We will be training her to be James’s service dog (but first, not stealing socks). Thank you to @hitorshelter for bringing her into our lives. Here’s a photo from today after her first day of school. (at Hi Tor Animal Care Center, Inc.)
When I was a young and impressionable kid, my dad and older brother would watch The Jerk with me all the time. It lead to me getting in trouble for calling people “bastards” in Girl Scouts. I’m ecstatic I was able to take my dad to see Navin in real life tonight. #impickingoutathermosforyou (at The Beacon Theatre)
Today marks 10 years with @apple. In my first interview, I was asked how certain media Apple created made me feel. I quickly responded that the iPod commercials made me want to dance and the rest is history. For the last decade, I have been fortunate to move alongside of some of the most brilliant minds and open hearts. I’ve been empowered to give back to my community, use technology for good, travel the world making friends at different stores, and continually learn both on the job and at university. Here’s to always staying hungry and staying foolish wherever the next 10 years take us. (Thank you, @vcfederation for letting me explore your collection a few weeks ago and @jamesj_d /@jimmy_joe_eight5 for snapping my all time favorite candid photo.) (at The InfoAge Science History Learning Center and Museum)
I may always be a flight risk (but it’s because my broken mind buys nothing but one-way departure tickets for you). - I remember this. It was after midnight. The trains were operating later than usual, thank goodness. I stopped walking. All I wanted to do was dive into this pool, underneath some ancient streetlights. But I never could have jumped. For years, I only have the courage to dip one toe in, while the other nine are out the door, racing your feet as the screen in my head slams against the frame. It’s always the same. Here or abroad. After years or days. I just want(ed) home. - (at London, United Kingdom)
No wonder, no wonder Other half Strange steps Heels turn black The cinders, they splinter And light the path Of these strange steps Trace us back, trace us back Flow sweetly, hang heavy You suddenly complete me (at The Asbury)
My amazing sister, @critter_wendy, has done it again. Totally in love with the gorgeous @guytang_mydentity colors we used and this cut! (BANGSSSS!) (at Tips & Toes)
Here we go, boys. (at Prudential Center)
Well, winter is going to end I’m going to clean these veins again So close to dying that I finally can start living
Just documenting this dress and corresponding pockets. (Thanks, @dark.archive💕) (at Rough Trade NYC)
