To all involved with LUNA SEA, and to all the fans, This is Shinya from LUNA SEA. Thank you always for supporting LUNA SEA. I have something to announce to you all. In 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Even while in the middle of live shows and tours, I continued performing while undergoing seven surgeries along with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. After completing the grand finale of our 35th anniversary tour at Tokyo Dome in February 2025, we took a break. However, the other day, I felt dizzy and collapsed, unable to stand. At first, I thought it was caused by displaced ear crystals, but after consulting a doctor and seeing no recovery, I underwent an MRI examination at a neurosurgery department. A tumor was found in my right temporal lobe, and I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. While I plan to undergo radiation therapy, if inflammation occurs, it is expected that I may become unable to move or it may affect my ability to perform. Given these circumstances, I have asked Jun-ji, the person I trust most, to sit at the drum set and perform in my place at "LUNATIC FEST. 2025," to be held on November 8th (Sat) and 9th (Sun). I believe this is the best and most satisfying outcome for me, LUNA SEA, and all of our supporters . I am deeply grateful to Jun-ji for accepting without hesitation. And once again, to all the fans and to the members of LUNA SEA, I sincerely apologize for the great trouble I am causing. I ask for your continued support of LUNA SEA. Until the day I can return to the stage again, I promise two things: first, that I will not die, and second, that I will never lose hope. When that day comes, let’s meet again with smiles.
