something about the similar but inverted composition+colour palette of these two scenes. dirk at a moment of self awareness, of acknowledging his potential for harm & the trauma his alternate self inflicted on dave, making an effort to comfort him as hard as it feels. vs dirk at his absolute worst who knows that he has become that person. he still thinks he's doing the right thing even if he has to be a bad guy which is probably exactly what bro thought. except this time he's the one leaning on rose for comfort and they're the same age technically but he still refers to her as his daughter & he obviously holds quite a bit of power over her. i dont know. its so fucked up
