Hello and Welcome to Slay the Archivist!

Some basic rules:

No magic anons, but asks that reference up through Season 4 of the Magnus Archives are acceptable.

Any asks insulting my art style will be deleted without prejudice

Please do not send asks of a sexual nature or that include nsfw content. This blog is open to all ages.

Do not be the asshole that makes more rules necessary

And some brief notes:

As this follows Slay the Princess's style, ask input is a big deal. You can make whatever choices in asks, and the routes are first come first serve.

The plans are currently tentative and if I stop asks for a brief period it will be mostly to set up an ending and/or route.

This will not contain jon/martin, unfortunately, but it will contain jon/tim! If that's your jam, welcome aboard.

THIS BLOG WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SLAY THE PRINCESS!!! Not necessarily plot spoilers but it will spoil some elements of the world and takes heavy inspiration from specific parts of the game. You should play Slay the Princess or watch someone else play it!!!

This will contain spoilers for the Magnus Archives but honestly if you go into this with no knowledge at all I hope it is still a valuable experience.

With that said, enjoy the show (whenever I begin it).

[You begin to pry the blade between the shackle and the Prince's arm. You do accidentally nick him a few times. He does not react.]

welllll you remember what happened last time we cut your hand off right? when tim suddenly lost control and you had to kill him? the same thinf would probably happen again if we just did it all the same, so do you have any other suggestions that isnt. yk. cutting your hand off...?

"I don't care. If you all let me out, I will accept anything else that comes. Anything. Even if it is my death."

That's. Mildly alarming. He's not supposed to want to get out this badly. Did you do something to convince him ending the world is a good idea?

"Will you...end the world? If I let you out?"

"Perhaps. I have been down here for as long as I can remember, Tim. I do not wish to be locked away again. And if the only way to ensure that is to end the world...."

Voice of the Flirt: Oh my god he's so hot. Imagine what he'd look like soaked in the blood of the people....ravishing.

No. No. Stop that. The Prince ending the world is not a good thing!

"Hey, uh....how did you know my name?"

Voice of the Vigilante: I didn't see one.

"Look, there's no keyhole. I checked, and you've got that blade don't you? Just cut my hand off again."

Voice of the Vigilante: He's still...incredibly cavalier about that.

Voice of the Flirt: It's kinda hot.

Voice of the Vigilante: We have two different definitions of "hot."

While you're all busy bickering, the Prince is growing more...seemingly paranoid.

"There's something else going on here. I need...we need to get out of here. Now. Before things get worse."

[He leans back, surprised. And slightly annoyed.]

After he died? Nothing. He died. That's all.

"Right, yeah, was that...really all?"

"What would be the benefit of lying to you?"

Voice of the Flirt: I trust him. Mostly. He doesn't seem like he wants to hurt anyone.

"I just want to get out of here. I wasn't able to, last time."

There IS a chain. I'm trying to do my JOB over here, Tim. There's a chain binding the prince to the wall.

Voice of the Flirt: Well, it wasn't a problem last time! We can just...do the same thing again?

"What, cut his arm off again?"

"If it gets me out of here, I'll let you do whatever you want."

Voice of the Vigilante: That- hm. Not sure how I feel about that.

The Prince's expression...changes. He looks desperate. You should slay him, now, while he's leaning towards you. The chain is pulled taut, and he is pulling himself as far forward as he can manage.

"Please get me out of here. I don't want to be down here any longer than I have been. Please."

Voice of the Flirt: It would be gentlemanly of us to help.

"Of course I remember you. You tried to help me last time."

Voice of the Flirt: He stopped us from killing him! By killing us! It was pretty hot, honestly. He knew exactly where to hit.

"That's...honestly not that reassuring."

"What?"

Voice of the Flirt: Of course! Of course! Onward!

"Alright, cool it a little. Let's go."

You descend the stairs, and they creak slightly as you walk down them. You hear a voice from the bottom of the stairs.

"Oh. It's you again, isn't it?"

[The Prince is once again open for questions.]

Voice of the Flirt: Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

You do know there's not actually a mirror there, right?

"I dunno, it looks pretty real to me."

You reach out and stroke the wall tenderly.

Voice of the Vigilante: Huh. It's...gone. Weird.

Just go down into the basement, will you?

Voice of the Vigilante: It's worth it, if it gets him out of there.

This. Is. A. TERRIBLE. Idea.

Voice of the Flirt: Hush it, eyeball. You just have NO eye for beauty.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. The interior of the cabin is rustic, yet pristine. The wood looks almost polished. The only things of note are a small table with a pristine blade resting on it. You should take that, not to free the Prince, but to slay him.

"Alright, alright, I'm taking it. Could everybody just be quiet for a minute and let me think?"

Voice of the Vigilante: Also...what's the deal with that mirror? You didn't say anything about that.

Voice of the Flirt: Precisely! That's all we need!

Fine. Just shut up, all of you, you're giving me a headache. Ahem. You proceed to the cabin, a small wooden one sitting on top of a rather picturesque looking hill.

Voice of the Vigilante: Get on with it so we can get moving.

I got a new phone and lost a bunch of sprites so I'll have to remake them as I go. This route will continue as normal but others might take longer in the future.
