Vaggie is such an awesome character, she deserves love

Yes, she is. Yes, she does. 🥰

And it’s funny, sort of; this isn’t necessarily a “Vaggi blog” so much as it’s a blog for my interests. I love posts about her, so I reblog them and maybe will even respond to them, and then I’ll make my own posts on her regarding different things. I love finding other fans on social media and connecting with them—it’s such a cool experience!

And regarding my last couple of posts, it’s not me saying “Grr! Find Vaggi attractive or else!” because if I only wanted people to focus on her looks instead of her as a character, that would make me just as shallow and superficial as people who genuinely do that. It’s really just me responding to anon(s) and saying, “Hey, people don’t like Vaggi, and here are the biggest reasons why.” I don’t want anyone who may stumble across my blog and posts to get the wrong idea. 👌🏽😌 Like who you want, but don’t be a jerk about it.

"It's okay; I still love you."

It actually broke/breaks my heart to hear Vaggie say, "It's okay; I still love you" regarding Charlie not hearing her. Like, it tells us how she has such low self-worth and low self-esteem that even the worst disrespect (not saying this is the worst disrespect, I'm saying in general) will be excused by her as long as she has her girlfriend. As long as Charlie knows Vaggie still loves her, that's all that matters to Vaggie. That's so sad, so unhealthy to me—but Stephanie told us at MCM Con that Vaggie is deeply insecure and doesn't feel like she is worthy of love or being loved. Her constantly putting Charlie above herself at the detriment of her own self-love and identity is so heart-wrenching, but she's also showing the audience through her actions how devoted she is while asking for nothing in return. She's tending to the guests as the host (something alastor refused to do), she's fixing appliances, she's bringing deliveries to people, she's preventing mishaps (like when she grabbed Baxter's chemical vial before it fell), she even went to Lucifer to try to get Vox to stop the lies—all of this shows us how serious Vaggie is to both Charlie and the hotel. Now, I love how Charlie holds herself accountable and tells Vaggie it isn't okay that she hasn't been listening to her, and she recognizes how harmful that is with not just Vaggie, but herself, too. This is a great part of her arc as we see her slowly, but surely, growing. Both of them.

I love the little flashback that we got of Vaggie's past in Heaven, because on top of the harsh military environment, we did see her with a friend? Lover? A fellow soldier who was down and/or about to be punished, so Vaggie comforted her? Someone she was just close to? I think this relationship—whatever it may be—plays a role in Vaggie's journey of self-discovery, and it may have been at the tip-top of it. I saw a post on Twitter that had the lyrics from 'Gravity' with "hate that you couldn't save her" line, and came with the frame of Vaggie reaching out helplessly while the other Exorcist was being pulled away. That got me thinking: maybe the line is referencing and mocking Vaggie—which, again, I think Vaggie and the other Exorcist being close and having to be separated (whether by Vaggie's fall or the Exorcist being dragged away) and Vaggie not being able to get back to her, is a factor in her low self-esteem.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the story holds for Vaggie and her arc with her name and self-worth, and I can't wait to see more of her life in Heaven, which undeniably ties into that.

Vaggie, my beloved. My dear, my heart, my love...I want the best for you. I want you to have all the love and respect and care you deserve, but not at the expense of yourself.

"It's okay; I still love you" keeps going through my head and how Stephanie delivered that line? Top-notch! I could hear the "I'm-saying-something-serious-but-let-my-voice-slightly-drop-at-the-end-in-a-lighthearted-way-so-that-it-won't-sound-so-harsh-and-she-won't-have-to-worry" in her voice. Ah, I love everything about these two.

I love all your hazbin posts but I gotta say one of my favorite things is your praise for Stephanie's singing. I've seen many people, even those who like Vaggi, say they dislike her performance.

She's had several interviews where she's talked about her passion for singing and her regular vocal coaching, and I think it's really endearing. I'm going to keep blaring "Waiting on a Miracle" getting hyped for her solo. :)

Aww, thanks! And that’s okay; some like her singing and some don’t, so it’s different strokes for different folks. As long as they aren’t nasty and rude, they can voice their opinion(s). And really, I think it’s just because of the contrast between Vaggi’s speaking and singing voices that gets people. I will admit, I’m still getting used to Vaggi/Stephanie’s part in “When I Think About The Future” (it’s the only part I listen to, to be honest, haha! And Steph and Erika’s harmonization… *chef’s kiss*) because of how high her voice is. Beautiful and clear as a whistle, it makes me think to myself, “This is Vaggi. This is Vaggi. Place the voice in/on Vaggi.”

And yes, regarding the interviews, she has spoken about her love of singing, and also mentioned at Comic Con that her vocal coach was hard core. I love that when she mentioned Vaggi’s solo, she had so much love and excitement for it—it really shows her dedication and passion for the character she plays. Also, she’s gone on record (the Lilly Singh interview, to be exact) saying that she doesn’t consider herself the best singer or dancer (this was for In The Heights promo), but, in my opinion, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Viv both saw her talent and wanted her for their respective projects.

And finally, YES! “Waiting on a Miracle” is my favorite song from the Encanto soundtrack! 🤩 When I listen to it, I, too, wonder if Vaggi’s solo will sound something like this. What genre? What tempo? What topic is she singing about? Hopefully, it’ll be about her insecurities, or her feelings as an ex-Exorcist, or even about how she still feels like she’s lacking as a person. Maybe her relationship will be mentioned in a line or two, but I’d like for it to focus on her. Lord knows the fandom and hatedom alike will eat her alive if it doesn’t. I hope her song gets much love and appreciation and positive attention as possible. ☺️

I love this because I DID NOT think the show was going to touch on something id been thinking for a WHILE: Vaggi has ALWAYS been the leader of the hotel and this season has been her FULLY stepping into that role.

Since episode ONE, hell you could argue since the pilot, Vaggi has been the one with the idea on how to make the hotel actually WORK. How best to promote and present it, how to run things, how to handle every crisis or issue the place faces. Both during day to day operations and when trouble strikes, she is the one who stays calm and handles things. And is also just willing to call everyone else (even Charlie eventually) out on their bullshit. Charlie's strength is in seeing the good in others and inspiring them to see that good in themselves. Whereas Vaggi's strength is in LEADING others, being capable under pressure, and being the cool head that keeps everyone steady while things are going haywire.

And I think that, even though the season doesn't put a ton of focus on it, this moment is REALLY important to Vaggi because I doubt she's ever considered herself a leader. Through seasons one and two, i imagine she always saw herself as a follower. A soldier. Someone who's worth was in FOLLOWING others and performing their orders, even before meeting Charlie. But here, Charlie is saying her worth IS in leading others. In running things. In being the one in charge. And considering its from Charlie, who's praise is no doubt worth gold to Vaggi, its a big deal.
