As much as I would love it if Garcia's family was warm and welcoming and her mother loved Trinity from the start I'm way more down for her having just as bad of a relationship with her mother as Santos does. They're both mommy issues central.

once time during an argument, trinity says that yolanda doesn’t even know her, that she couldn’t even guess trinity’s middle name and before she can start the next sentence, yolanda interrupts her.

“marie.”

“what?” trinity actually almost takes a step back because there’s no way that yolanda knows that.

“your middle name is marie.”

trinity tries to argue that it’s just a lucky guess, that anyone could guess marie as a middle name. at the same time, she’s blushing and her words are getting messed up because how does yolanda know that? those damn butterflies in her chest just won’t die but then yolanda gets that evil glint in her eye like she won something and asks “what’s my middle name?”

it makes trinity sputter and get defensive because she doesn’t know.

at the end of the argument, trinity stands crossing her arms and asks, “well,” looking up and away from yolanda’s smirking face, shrugging her shoulder just slightly, “what is it?”

yolanda doesn’t tell her.

I love the idea of Shamsi being an absolute ally to Victoria as long as he goes into surgery, that woman doesn't care If her daughter is a lesbian, queer or trans as long as it's her SURGEON daughter.

I'd be really interesting if it was revealed that Yolanda is so reluctant to get involved/pick sides in hospital drama because, surprisingly, her drama free place is the hospital and her life outside it with her friends and family is absolute chaos and has been for a while.

Metz said that she imagines that Yolanda comes from money and while she could have meant that her parents are comfortable it could also mean trust fund baby Yolanda who became a surgeon, one of the hardest careers to get into as a woman of color, only for the love of the game. And I have to respect that.

trinity santos has a demonstrated history of self-harm and is clearly struggling in season 2. she experiences psychological and physical pain.

Yolanda had either the least problematic backstory with the most loving and supportive family you've ever seen or she's going through unimaginable horrors where the Trinity/Langdon conflict just seems unimportant in scale.
