Character breakdown after the cut~
First, new Starclan cats that I didn’t draw and how they died.
Quailstar was captured by an eagle and never seen again. I have to assume she was eaten, tragically. A few months later, Whitebird was bitten by a venomous snake and succumbed to the venom; the same month, Indibreeze died of a broken bone he received fighting a badger. Finally, Daisytail died of complications of wasting disease. They were all pretty big hits.
Onto the living cats!
Dustystar (tom) is now the leader of Dandelionclan. He’s stepped into the role with surprising ease and I hope he’ll go ahead and have kits with Whisperleaf now.
Makini (tom) is now the deputy! I let the leaders pick the deputy, so I was a little surprised when he picked Makini, who is childish. That said, he’s well liked by his clanmates and has done a pretty good job! He and his mate, Nightfleck, should have mates, too.
Fallingarch and Whisperleaf (mollies) are basically like sisters. Whisperleaf viewed Quailstar as a surrogate mother and took her death hard. Fallingarch has matured since taking over the lead healer role and offered Whisperleaf plenty of comfort while she grieved. I love these two and I need DustyWhisper kits immediately please.
Frozendawn (tom) is strange and an excellent mediator. He’s still mute; his favorite way of mediating is dictating who can talk by putting his tail against the listening party’s muzzle. No talk, only hear.
Nightfleck (tom) had a pretty uneventful year aside from some illness. He and Makini are mates and I desperately want them to have kits. For a while, he did have deputy goals, but he’s getting up there in age.
Hazelholly (nonbinary) currently has yellowcough. Aside from that, he struggled with Whitebird’s death to the point of not leaving his nest. Frozendawn was actually the cat most frequently at their side as they recovered.
Bunnyfreckle (molly) is new! She’s playful and an excellent speaker. Dustystar invited her to join while on patrol. Aside from being a sweetheart, she hasn’t had time to do much. She’s the biggest cat in the clan at the moment.
Blossomshimmer (molly) was briefly kidnapped and returned with a spiked leather collar. If that doesn’t scream butch lesbian, I don’t know what does. She has a crush on Icyfade now, but she also gets along really well with Rabiah and Chasingdance too.
Pheasantcrest, Chasingdance, and Tawnyswipe (tom, molly, tom) were devastated by the loss of their mother. The threesome are now orphans, tragically. Chasingdance took it the hardest, but her brothers were always there offering her support. I love them.
Rabiah (molly) had a pretty quiet year too. She’s absolutely a lesbian, though; she’s got a crush on Chasingdance, Icyfade, and Blossomshimmer and spends like no time with any toms. Just an angry gay baby.
Worm (molly) is new too! She’s confident and a good speaker who was found injured on the road. She’s a munchkin, though that’s hard too tell since she’s laying down. One of her legs is broken, so she hasn’t done much.
Timberfur (molly) is our last new cat. She’s responsible and a good fighter and literally just got here, so I don’t have much to tell you I’m afraid. She’s pretty tho.
Pigeonhop (molly) is childish and has a strong connection to Starclan. An outbreak of whitecough made her a brief healer for the clan, where she wondered if she made the right choice in being a warrior. When Whisperleaf recovered, though, she went back to her warrior duties.
Swishpatch and Eaglebark (molly and trans-molly) are loving life as elders. Swishpatch always has comments and jokes and Eaglebark is always there to chuckle at them. They’re an adorable old couple.
Voltagepatch (molly) spends most of her time eavesdropping on the clan. She has a decently good relationship with Icyfade.
Icyfade (molly) was forced to retire by Quailstar after her blind eye caused her to struggle on patrols. Her personality literally changed to cold when that happened. ;n; I might have Dustystar make her a mediator, which I just use as a general queen-mediator-camp warrior role. She’s got a crush on Blossomshimmer and seems to find comfort with Voltagepatch.
Aaaaaaaand that’s everyone! finally i can more to Year 9 ;v;
While I finish up the artwork for Dandelionclan, behold Bunnyfreckle! She’s one of the few newcomers to the clan this year and is playful and an excellent speaker. I’m a little biased but I think she’s adorbs.
Daisytail survived to warriorship and he graduated like three moons later than everyone usually does but he did it. He’s calm and a great teacher, and I assume part of his chill comes from a philosophical outlook concerning his own imminent death.
Swishpatch and Eaglebark became mates and immediately popped out twins, Frozenpaw and Pigeonpaw.
Frozenpaw is a compassionate tom and also the current healer’s apprentice! He’s mute and mostly relies on his sister to translate for him, but he’s getting on really well with his mentor, Whisperleaf, and finding ways to communicate.
Pigeonpaw is a wise molly and Nightfleck’s apprentice. She was originally slated to be the next healer’s apprentice, but she recognized that her brother would better suit the position and said so. She occasionally has weird dreams but she’s enjoying her training.
Rabiah is a fierce molly who is a great fighter and was abandoned by her owners when she had yellowcough. She’s angry and would probably go out of her way to bite a human’s ankle.
The only new addition to Dandelionclan Year 6, and he’s an abandoned kit with wasting disease ;n; His name is Daisykit and I know he at least survives til apprenticehood but why the little guy gotta be so sick?
we had one new addition in Dandelionclan Year 6 so have the Starclan crew! Bushdapple and Heavyfire have only been drawn once at one stage of their life so enjoy grown up Bushpaw and handsome af Heavyfire in his prime!
Year 5 wasn’t that crazy in Dandelionclan so have a quick bunch of doodles for the most important events.
New guy is Indibreeze, a fawn sokoke tabby and white tom with medium fur and pale yellow eyes! He’s fierce and has a strong connection to Starclan. He survived the collapse of his owners’ house, though he was injured in the incident, leaving him with head damage. He’s literally just been recovering so he hasn’t done anything.
Voltagepatch returned to the clan! She’s now lonesome instead of sneaky and feels like a lot has passed her by. I hope she can find her place in the clan again.
Icypaw earned her name, Icyfade, and is daring and a good hunter! She got hit by a car and suffered head trauma; thankfully, she mostly recovered. Her pupil is so big because she’s now half blind; her right pupil doesn’t respond to light anymore. She’s still adjusting to it.
Finally, we have news for Dustyheart! Not only was he made deputy when Whitebird retired (I let the leaders auto pick deputies for the drama), but he became mates with Whisperleaf! Guess she wasn’t completely ace after all - I really hope they have kits someday ;v;
The only cat we lost this year was Anisefur, who I didn’t draw. Honestly, she was kind of losing it near the end, so death might have been a relief for her.
Last update for Dandelionclan Year 4! Our two elders and single apprentice!
Let’s start with Icypaw, who was abandoned with the clan as a kit. She’s a longhair chocolate smoke molly with sunlit ice eyes and is bold. Eaglebark is her mentor. With multiple collapsing tunnels and deaths or kidnappings this year, she’s been really inspired by how the clan sticks together. I just hope the clan finds some friends for her.
Palebreeze (tom) is the angry looking dude, and he is pissed. After Crestdapple died, he was made deputy. Shortly after that, there were several tunnel cave-ins, and Anisefur took the -breeze part of his name to be the wind she was warned about. He was shocked when he was given a retirement ceremony and Whitebird took his place. I would not be surprised if he decides to take matters into his own paws.
Finally, we have Spiderswipe (tom), who briefly served as deputy before Crestdapple. Despite being vengeful, he mostly just helps build stuff and tells bad dad jokes. He’s happy to be retired.

Nightfleck (tom) has been just kind of chilling. Aside from developing a little crush on Makini, he’s had an uneventful year. He’s also got a little crush on Fallingarch, but the entire clan does, so meh.
Pheasantcrest (tom) is strange and has a strong connection to Starclan. The first born of Quailstar and Crestdapple’s only litter, he’s the smallest of the bunch. He’s also incredibly stealthy and just pops up at random times with observations.
Tawnyswipe (tom) is playful and a great hunter, but he’s also got head damage so. Ya know. He tries to be the happy-go-lucky guy in the family after Crestdapple’s death, just wanting to see his mom smile again.
Chasingdance (molly) is nervous and a good speaker. The death of her mother really affected her; she went from being daring to being nervous all the time. She’s the largest of the litter and most physically intimidating, but she’s a sweetheart.
Hazelholly (nonbinary) has had a pretty quiet year too. They’ve got a crush on Whisperleaf, but she’s mostly just his BFF. They do have an interest in becoming deputy! If we ever get any more kits, maybe that could happen.

Dandelionclan warriors Year 4! There are more here’s just batch one. From left to right:
Swishpatch (molly) hasn’t had much happen, aside from the death of her daughter Bushdapple near the beginning of the year. This actually pushed her to be closer to her only kit, who we’ll get to momentarily. She likes flirting with Eaglebark.
Blossomshimmer (molly) earned her warrior name and grew into a lonesome cat who is a great speaker. All her anger as a kit and apprentice managed to push most cats away, leaving her to herself. Her best friend is...
Dustyheart (tom), who is calm and has a strong connection to Starclan. He misses his sister dearly, but actually sees her in dreams semi-regularly thanks to his connection to his ancestors. The only time his calm is shaken is when he’s around his best friend and crush, Blossomshimmer.
Makini is a brand new member of the clan! He’s a longhaired ghost spotted tabby tom with yellow eyes and is childish and a good speaker. His owners were horrible and abusive, so when he saw a chance to run, he did. His excitement at normal clan things is annoying at times, but mostly charming.
Eaglebark (tom) has finally settled in to the clan. He was on patrol with Voltagepatch when she was captured by humans and used to wish he was the one who was caught. He’s got a crush on Swishpatch.

Dandelionclan’s high ranks at the end of Year 4. Left to right we have:
Anisefur (healer, molly) isn’t doing well since her warning from Tawnybracken. Despite being an experienced healer, she had never actually had a religious experience. She’s terrified of what the prophecy could mean and has pushed Dandelionclan to make some... choices. We’ll go over those later.
Quailstar (leader, molly) also isn’t doing so great. Her mate and deputy, Crestdapple, died at the very beginning of the year. She went through another deputy before we get to the current one due to Anisefur’s advice. For the most part, she’s just... desperately depressed. She’s even considering retiring.
Whisperleaf (healer, molly) is doing pretty well, actually. I’ve been trying desperately to get her into a romantic relationship because kits, but she refuses to develop a crush, so ace Whisperleaf, maybe?
Whitebird (deputy, tom) did not expect to be made deputy ever, but he’s doing his best in the role. He’s not particularly young, so he has no idea why Quailstar picked him after the previous deputy. His feelings of friendship towards Palebreeze have developed into something more, but he has no idea how to tell him.
Fallingarch (healer, molly) has gained more confidence as Anisefur has broken down. She’s kind of stepped into the lead healer’s position and is thriving. She’s also got a crush on half the clan, which half the clan returns. Somehow, sweet little Fallingarch is clan heart throb.
Some things have happened that I just don’t wanna draw pictures for lmao so here’s what you might(?) need to know. Probably want to know at least if you’re reading this. Also some basics of how I play this clan.
First, High Rank news: Heavyfire retired, so good ol’ Spiderswipe took the deputy positions for a while, but then he retired. Quailstar went with good ol’ nepotism and put her mate, Crestdapple, as deputy.
New warriors: Blossomshimmer and Bushdapple both earned their names! Bushdapple is strict and Blossomshimmer is lonesome. Unfortunately for her, Bushdapple is also in the healer’s den ‘cause a dog took a bite out of her.
Cat speak?: Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t tbh. I tend to just use month and the normal season names instead of all the leaf stuff. I also use molly instead of she-cat because I... I’ve always thought she-cat sounded real silly when we’ve got a perfectly good word for it right there. Mostly I just use what feels most natural.
Settings: Same sex litters on, leader picks deputy on, mediators on, no relationships between former apps/mentors, no first cousin relationships

Dandelionclan Year 3 saw us lose our first member, Tawnybracken, to a broken bone. She was dropped by an eagle and managed to survive several moons before she succumbed.
Shortly afterwards, Anisefur received a prophecy from the young warrior, receiving the warning “Beware what the wind brings.” Anisefur is terrified and has no idea what she can be referring to. I’m sure everything will be fine c:

Technically Crestdapple gave birth but they all look like Quailstar so canonically she carried them for the couple. They’re all three moons old as of the end of Year 3.
Pheasantkit (a black spotted tabby and white tom with medium fur and silver eyes) is daring. He’s boundless energy and constantly looking for something to do.
Chasingkit (a longhair dilute tabby tortoiseshell molly with emerald eyes) is impulsive. She doesn’t have many brain cells and the ones that she does have are dedicated almost entirely to chasing bugs.
Tawnykit (a shorthair calico tom with cobalt eyes) is noisy. Yes, I got myself a calico boy! He’s very concerned with everything and is kind of the town crier. He’s impossibly nosy and drives the clan nuts.
