maybe i’m missing something but im not sure why so many people seem so offended by ghoulcy when in fallout 4 you literally play as a vault dweller whose partner is murdered and can then romance ANYONE like anyone and a ghoul is a literal option? i don’t really see how it’s so taboo as people online like to make it? it’s like fallout 101 in my opinion 😭

i never fall for the conventional, love-at-first-sight, "normal" love stories.

i want to watch love claw its way out of someone's chest. i want to see a couple fight — against it, then for it. i want to see a blazing fire of emotions that consumes. that's what draws me in.

a romance that is EARNED. not one that's expected.

i'm glad the ghoul did not bridal carry lucy bc i think what largely makes this dynamic shippable and special is that they are comrades, partners, and on a deeper level--mirrors, not "a man and a woman" if you know what i mean.

Anyone and everyone CAN write. The world’s most skilled writer didn’t start off skilled. The key is that they practice hard by writing a lot.

As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.

So a Cyberpunk 2077 AU fic idea with Bruce and Joker working together led to a Telltale fic idea where they (basically) end up working together which led to a fixit idea for Batman: White Knight (which I finally got around to reading) where they... you guessed it, eventually get together/work together. I thought I'd be done writing Batjokes after Rid of Me and just get back to reading fanfiction but I guess this is just going to be a lifelong ship that I write

Recently I was in discussion with a peer group about an article written by James Marriot for the Times. He's basically an art school drop out that never spent any real time developing his skill to become an artist. And now he's bitter that he's not successful and that artists with real skill are 'gatekeepers' to his success.

To be honest it was a very entitled rant that demonized people who have worked very hard to hone their craft as elitists and prestige squatters. In his article he welcomes AI generators because he thinks it levels the playing field between his mediocre efforts and those snobby, gatekeeping artists.

And that's where the connection hit... (channels Chompsky) AI image generating isn't about making art. It is about AVOIDING making art. Let the computer do it. I'm too lazy to log the long emotionally wearing hours. I'm too impatient to listen to masters. I'm too self-absorbed to spend my time laboring over a work that requires me to use sophisticated critical thinking. Let the machine do it.
