Yeah okay, but did your retro-sci-fi comfort-comedy with depressing undertones have an episode that opened with a dream-sequence dance number featuring all the main characters (which include the last living human, a man evolved from cats, a hologram of a dead man, and the ships computer) and did that sequence become cemented as one the all-time feel good moments in British comedy that I regularly rewatch for instant serotonin? My taste in old UK comedy comfort characters is simple really. If I can neatly align them on the ol' baby to bastard chart then I automatically love them.

Quick question: British sitcoms seem to average at about 6 episodes a season so I hold no bitter feelings about only 6 ghosts epiosdes a season (Well very few bitter feelings) but American sitcoms often have much longer series.

DOES THIS MEAN THERE WILL BE MORE THAN 6 AMERICAN GHOSTS EPISODES A SERIES???

One of the big reasons behind it is that UK shows tend to have only 1 or 2 writers while US shows will more likely have a writers room. US producers will plan out the characters, dynamics, and overall themes, then hand that to a writers room who can create like 25 episodes per year. It's more common in the UK for shows to be written purely by 1 or 2 people, so 6 episodes tend to be a years limit!

Someone used The Office as an example:

UK writers: 2

UK Episodes per season: 6

US Episodes per season (average): 25
