-> I'm a (baby) side-a catholic. I veil full time and try to be has modest as I can. I can't make it to church unfortunately. Last time I was in one, it was an Episcopalian but I didn't quite vibe fully with how they ran things (that pastor/congregation specifically), and then my disability became severe and I was no longer able to attend.

-> I was raised with my only guide to religion being my abusive father who took me around to different churches on the weekends before settling finally on becoming a Jehovahs Witness. By this time I was a teen and eventually my life blew up so I only went to a few services.

-> I'm an adult (31) and I use they/them or she/her pronouns. I'm half Lithuanian and I'm married, hence the babushka.

-> I am physically & mentally disabled and homebound. I can only move around my house very little. I'm in a queer relationship with my hubs. and I have two pet pigeons.

I've been feeling too "stupid" for God lately. I have a hard time reading, remembering, thinking ... I'm trying my best and I need to remember that God sees me trying.

Guys we have Christians joining the military for a college degree. We see people betray Jesus for money everyday. If you are American you live in a country that betrayed Jesus for money and power.

This is not some foreign concept. It’s an action you see on the daily. There might even be a chance you have betrayed Jesus.

Judas is not the exception, he is the rule.

In awareness of this month of May, for all the Christians who are suffering from mental illness, chronic illness, neurological disorders, cancer, survivors of sexual abuse and rape, abuse, trauma, alcohol and drug abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, and dysmorphia: please know you are loved, you are cared for, you are important, and you are not a burden/problem/waste of space. You are not a "failure" or "terrible" or an "unworthy" Christian. You are not a mistake, your life and value is not defined by how much you need help or are dependent and need to recover. You don't need to be perfect, "be normal", or easier to love, to care for, to support, and to accept.

You are not sinful because you are ill. You are not wicked because you are weakened. You are not too far gone or faithless or unforgiven because you are in doubt and in pain everyday.

You already are loved, you are cared for, you are supported, and you are accepted, by the same Christ who has suffered as many afflictions as you and others before, on, and after that Cross, and He suffers with you because He knows you and He calls you His own - not out of burden or pity, but the love that He is calls to give himself unto you because that is who He is.

Who you are, does not seperate or negate the love God has for you.

Please reach out to any of our brothers and sisters online to pray for you, listen to you, and share your sorrow with you. And do not be afraid to seek out counsellors, psychologists, and psychiatrists who may truly help you; therapy and help are not a rejection of God's work and healing, they are extensions of it.

For as Christ had taken refuge in the Father in the days before His Crucifixion, as Elijah had cried to God to take his life out of depression and overwhelm, as David had wept for the heart and mercy of the Lord, as the Gerasene man possessed with a legion had once cut himself with stones went to proclaim the sound Gospel, and as Paul had proclaimed in the darkness and lowliness of a cell that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us: may we share that comfort and solace and anguish and neediness and assurance with you, before the same God.
