I went traveling, for most of two years, and I grew more than just a belly... I met people saying my country was racist, and I met people from my home town (5 degrees of separation!!) that shocked me with their shitty racist views... Since being back I've fought with mates, and fought with family. I was never racist before I left, but I didn't realise I was being passive; and I won't be that person anymore. I don't get angry, I think education is key but when people won't hear it I just want to run back to the UK. I've found a lot of comfort in seeing signs stating #bringthemhere & #letthemstay :) it's only one facet of many aspects I'm talking about, but it's helpful to know. I think I need to surround myself with people with more similar views.
