Sigh,Drink, sigh again, drink once more. He was already regretting coming here, this was really stupid, who cares about love, he can live without it, he did for so many years.
“I understand love to my brothers, to my boss, to my child, it makes sense, it’s like something i wanna do, but when it comes to something black or red i’m like. What i am supposed to feel? what i am supposed to do? i know it sounds stupid but i don’t know what love is? i can’t understand when people describe the feeling of love.
That’s what i asked you if you think love is for everyone, maybe i wasn’t made to feel it. Who needs a lesser carapace falling in love right?”
Paul smiles softly. He rests a hand on Deuce’s shoulder and gives him a reassuring squeeze. “Hey,” he says, “Love ain’t everything. I think you got all the love you need. Don’t sweat it if you can’t do more. Maybe you’re aromantic! And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that. People are born that way all the time. If carapaces are made that way, ain’t any reason to have shame in it. You just be the very best you can be and share what love you do have.” He sighs. Takes another drink. “I get green around the grills, to be honest. The camaraderie you fellas have. Always got each other... Maybe you’ll surprise yourself one day, Deuce. Find yourself gettin’ red for someone. But my suggestion to you, man to man, is to not worry about it. If you can’t, you can’t. Some people can’t do what you do, what with the bombs and everything. Don’t think your Crew is sweatin’ about it. That they can’t do it. They know they got you. Make sense? Leave the lovin’ to the lovers. Nothin’ wrong with not bein’ one of them and just bein’ you. You’re swell!” That beaming smile lights up the entire dock.

He stared at Sleuth for a bit. “Maybe humans are made for love” he forgot for a second that he wasn’t a prospitian in disguise, this was a 100% fleshy human. They have different concepts of destiny than a carapace.

The sun burns you know?. Deuce doesn’t return his smile, in fact he looks even sadder than before.
“What do you do when somebody have strong red feelings for you and you are sitting there like, shit i wish i felt the same but i don’t because i don’t know how to”
“Don’t know how to?” asks Sleuth. He puffs on his pill, blowing the smoke into the sky. “Well, birdie, I’d tell ‘em the truth. First and foremost. But if you don’t feel for someone the way you want to, it ain’t cause you don’t know how. It’s just cause you don’t. If you do care, and you don’t know how to show it, that’s different.” He takes another long draw. The detective sucks down the entirety of the stick and tosses the butt into the water below. Then it’s time for another swig of the offered hooch. “Does that make sense..? Or am I missin’ the mark here?”
Shatter his kneecaps.
Ahh eughhh um well! Snow! As much as I'd enjoy that, I'm afraid it's out of my jurisdiction to break Slick's kneecaps. Probably doesn't even have any, the snake...

Yikes. Not sure what I can do about that, Snowman. Slick don't subscribe to anyone's interests outside of his own. Exceptions bein his Crew on rare occasion. Did you have anything in mind, specifically...? I could try talkin to him if you'd like?

Deuce snapped his fingers a few times, little flames in the air but nothing really happened, he tries a few times more before giving up and sighs loudly, opening the bottle of scotch he was carrying.
“I guess i can’t be cool and summon glasses like Droog does.” He offers the first drink to Sleuth “ Do you think love is for everybody?”
Justice? That’s funny. Paul chuckles, lightheartedly. The justice types always seem to have issues with the gray area Sleuth works in. Trigger and stab happy, loose with the liquor, and even more loose with the one night stands. He’s not exactly the squeakiest cleanest good guy on the block. Nonetheless, he respects Deuce’s wishes. He’ll leave that case file closed. He takes the drink with a grateful nod and a quick swig. “Ahh, that’s good. Mmn. Love? How do you mean…? Like, finding someone special or just…” He waves his hand vaguely in the air, “Love in general?”
“Love like…any color really, just having that connection beyond sex /friendship/brotherhood and all that stuff. Do you think it’s for everyone?.”
Deuce sighed loudly , like if he was holding heavy thoughts on his lungs all this week and he finally got to say anything.
“I just don’t think i can deal with that kind of things, i’ve been thinking i wasn’t made for understand or feeling love, i envy people who can so openly love somebody and feel complete”
Paul tilts his head. He says, "Love is what you feel, Deuce. It ain't about what's in pictures or papers. We're all made for feeling the way we feel. So... yeah, I'd say we're all made for love, one way or another. Don't stress about the titles or colors if you don't want to."
He smiles softly, a genuine and pure grin as bright as the sun. "What's goin on that would prompt such an introspective question, Clubs?"
I enjoy staying in and keeping to myself, Paul.
In that case, how about we step out somewhere quiet and you can play me a song or two? Don’t gotta be ritzy we can just get on friendly terms.
