I spent the last two hours searching for the name of a specific flower that I quite liked because I wanted to plant it. Apparently, their name is Baby’s Breath.

Baby’s Breath, the flower I had planted in my garden last year’s spring.

The flower that’s bloomed all over my backyard a little whiles ago.

It sat in a vase on the patio table until it got swept away by the hurricane.

For the better part of my childhood, I was raised in a predominantly white and closed-minded area. So naturally, I befriended the few other people who were of color or mixed that lived in my town, and due to the pandemic, I was unable to see most of them until the end of the school year.

And yeah, it was great to see them, but many of them had gotten their appearance altered to look as if they were white. Of course, there is nothing wrong with changing how you look, but the fact that they haven’t grown out of their “I wish I was white” phase just kind of hurt. Just that to feel beautiful where I live, one would have to possess aryan features.

I just learned her real name was Sofia. I genuinely thought her name was Sophie and no one bothered to correct me.

hi okay!! I didn’t figure out on mobile but I already knew how to do it on desktop so I am here now. this is probably messy (I have been listening to music while listening to the two (2) takes I have of this song so I can’t tell???) because the piano is very out in the open and my family was at the dinner table but all of that aside I hope you all enjoy it! lyrics and taglist are going to be under the cut :)
