nasty man
The friendly gesture was well received by Robert despite of the roughness in it. For one, he was (or tried to be, more precisely) a gentleman, so he wasn’t going to object something like that coming from a lady, no matter how ‘unlady-like’ some people would argue that sort of actions were. And there was also the fact that he was used to rough mannerisms. It wasn’t like people in Ogre Street –his friends included– treated each other delicately, exactly…
The blond let out a laugh in response. “Jus’ my exact thoughts. And I must add that I’m glad to 'ear you feel that way as well!” He’d be lying if he’d said otherwise. Then again, he wasn’t one for always staying on track (he hadn’t moved as far up in the chain as he did, back in Ogre Street, by being a good guy, after all), making it always a rather interesting occurrence whenever he crossed paths with someone else who shared similar views on the matter.
“There’s no fun in always playin’ by someone else’s rules, if you ask me.” A similar smile to Rubber’s was drawn to his lips as he followed. “All those missed opportunities and experiences. It would be an absolute shame t’ let ‘em go t’ waste, correct?” He added, picking up a plate for himself from the bar right next to the salads’; an assortment of hot dishes immediately catching his eye, from which he picked some seasoned baked chicken and potatoes that had a rather alluring aroma. Not a large amount of either, but enough to decently fill the plate.
“My thoughts exactly, buddy boy!” Rubber didn’t stray TOO FAR away from Robert for the sake of CONVERSATION, but she still GAVE THE IMPRESSION that she was YELLING AT HIM from ACROSS THE ROOM. It wasn’t a sign of ANGER or EXCITEMENT ( well, maybe some degree of excitement, but not overly ); she just TALKED LIKE THAT. Dealing with LOUD NOISES was an integral part of the standard RUBBER SOUL FRIENDSHIP. It was practically PRINTED ACROSS THE JOB APPLICATION.
With practically ANYONE ELSE, the task of GETTING FOOD from a buffet wouldn’t be a particularly INTERESTING SIGHT. With RUBBER SOUL, however, the thing was a SPECTACLE in and of itself. She STALKED through the aisle like a CREATURE, or she BROWSED with an almost COMICAL amount of APPLIED CASUALNESS, or some COMBINATION OF THE TWO. She also picked up RIDICULOUS amounts of meat in her WARPATH throughout the restaurant.
“correct, absolutely!” she added at SOME POINT during her RUMMAGING. There was a certain QUALITY to her that made TERRIBLY COMMONPLACE actions EYEBROW-RAISING. “Take the chances ya get ‘n’ all that, fuck anyone else’s opinion. There’s no point in living life just to be boring. that’s why I put Sriracha on as much of my food as I legally can!”
LABYRINTH → the sentence meme
Below you will find quotes taken directly or paraphrased from the movie 'Labyrinth'. You know, the one starring David Bowie's bulge. Send in one of the following to see how my muse reacts:
❝ I ask for so little. ❞
❝ Just let me rule you, and you can have everything that you want. ❞
❝ Just fear me, love me - do as I say and I will be your slave.❞
❝ You remind me of the babe. ❞
❝ That’s not fair! ❞
❝ Give me the child. ❞
❝ You say that so often, I wonder what your basis for comparison is? ❞
❝ I have been generous up ‘til now; I can be cruel. ❞
❝ You cowered before me, I was frightening. ❞
❝ I have reordered time; I have turned this world upside down, and I have done it all for you! ❞
❝ I am exhausted from living up to your expectations. ❞
❝ Isn’t that generous? ❞
❝ Your mother is a fraggin’ aardvark! ❞
❝ Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for you. ❞
❝ I move the stars for no one. ❞
❝ Your eyes can be so cruel. ❞
❝ If she ever kisses you, I’ll turn you into a prince. ❞
❝ If he ever kisses you, I’ll turn you into a princess. ❞
❝ You’re him, aren’t you? ❞
❝ You’re her, aren’t you? ❞
❝ My will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom as great. ❞
❝ You have no power over me. ❞
❝ How you turn my world, you precious thing. ❞
❝ Well then, come on, which way? ❞
❝ Which way do you want to go, hm? ❞
❝ Was that wrong? ❞
❝ I’ve brought you a gift. ❞
❝ But if you turn it this way and look into it, it will show you your dreams. ❞
❝ In nine hours and twenty-three minutes…you’ll be mine. ❞
❝ Where you goin’ with a head like that? ❞
❝ No, I said ‘allo’, but that’s close enough. ❞
❝ It’s only forever, not long at all. ❞
❝ All right then, throw down your weapons, and I’ll see that you’re well-treated. ❞
❝ Don’t tell me truth hurts, because it hurts like hell. ❞
❝ No one can blame you for walking away. ❞
❝ I don’t know why, but every now and again in my life - for no reason at all - I need you. ❞
❝ The way forward is sometimes the way back. ❞
❝ It’s very rude to stare! ❞
❝ What did you have to go and do a thing like that for? ❞
❝ What’d you expect fairies to do? ❞
❝ What’s the matter, my dear, don’t like your toys? ❞
❝ There’s such a sad love, deep in your eyes. ❞
❝ I’ll place the sky within your eyes. ❞
❝ What kind of magic spell to use? ❞
❝ I’ll paint you mornings of gold. ❞
❝ I’ll spin you Valentine evenings. ❞
❝ I’ll be there for you as the world falls down. ❞
❝ We’re choosing the path between the stars. ❞
❝ I’ll leave my love between the stars. ❞
❝ How you turned my world, you precious thing. ❞
❝ You starve and near exhaust me. ❞
❝ I do believe in you. ❞
❝ I live without the sunlight. ❞
❝ I love without your heartbeat. ❞
❝ I can’t live within you. ❞

The arrangement of their meeting had been a QUIET ONE, but intentionally not a DUPLICITOUS GESTURE. Quiet on DANIEL’S PART ( at least, she ASSUMED it was quiet on his part ) because he himself was more SILENT GHOST than MAN; quiet on RUBBER’S PART because, for all that she lacked in the ways of SUBTLETIES, she distinctly cared NOT to cause Terence any CONCERN. Maybe some would venture to call her HESITANCE to BELIEVE the man’s story in its entirety a sign of POOR FRIENDSHIP; but Terence had always claimed to value HONESTY and TRUTH, so wasn’t this just a show of her LOYALTY, really? After all, it was FOR HIS OWN GOOD.
either way, it’s definitely for the best he isn’t AROUND FOR THIS. poor dan --- he has no idea WHAT’S COMING, does he?
With an INWARD GRIMACE, Rubber knocked ANIMATEDLY on the foreboding ( in FEELING, not APPEARANCE ) barrier to the D’Arby’s chosen dwelling. “Daniel? It’s me --- uh, rubber!”

“So dangerous…”
“Hello, again, asshole.”
“It’s just an apocalypse.”
“Which is strange, I know.”
“Oh, that’s a really bad lie.”
“I just thought it was a race.”
“She’s a little crazy. I like her.”
“Land on your feet, I beg you.”
“Oh, the things I’ll show you…”
“Well, fuck him, he attacked you.”
“Dost thou desire a grilled cheese?”
“Can you, like… do something nice?”
“Even metaphorically, I can’t hook up.”
“We’ll live off of pudding and our love.”
“Are you trying to out-monologue me?”
“Hmm. Neat. Whatever. I’ve seen better.”
“Are you being sassy with me, right now?”
“It’s cool… it’s not like you almost killed him.”
“There were, like, five separate almost kisses.”
“What did I tell you about falling over the edge?”
“How dead do you think he is? On a scale of 1 to 10?”
“So help me god, if you make a move on my daughter…”
“I mean, I do have stairs, but I’m not letting you in my house.”
“So, I’m going to need a reason why I shouldn’t beat your ass, now.”
