The writing prompt that I used for this was
YOU ARE TOLD THAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A ROOM WITH ONE PERSON THAT WANTS TO KILL YOU, AND TWO PEOPLE WHO WOULD DO ANYTHING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE. INSIDE, YOU FIND YOUR TWO BEST FRIENDS AND YOUR CRUSH.
I opened the door slowly, my fear pounding my heart. As I look inside I spot one of my best friends, Lia, right off the bat. When I finished opening the door I see not only Sam, my crush, but also my other close friend, Jewl. My heart sinks. One of these people want to kill me. Who? I don’t understand.
Lia looks at me with a terrified look on her face, “Lilly, oh Lillly, why are you in here? You don’t belong in here. GO! One of them wants to kill you.”
Sam stops looking at me and turns to Lia, “Why would I kill her?”
“She’s my best friend.” Jewl said faster than I could think.
“Don’t trust them.” Lia states.
“And why should she trust you, Lia?”Jewl looks at Lia with a small amount of trust leaving her body.
Sam turned back to me,”Lilly, come here I will keep you safe.”
“STOP IT!, all of you.” I start to tear up. I am scared. I don’t know who to trust. I want to run to Sam and hope that he can keep me safe. But I want to listen to Lia and believe her. She has been my best friend since like birth. Jewl, though, I have never trust her before so why should I now.
Jewl says to me,”Lilly don't trust them. Lia is the one that wants you dead."
"And why should I trust you we have only been friends a year. I wouldn't even think about calling you a best friend." Why did I just say that? She is probably the one that wants me died.
Sam waves me over,”Lilly, don’t trust either of them. Come over here.”
Why is he trying to get me near him. I think I would rather stay in my corner and make sure he stays in his, as well as the others."NO, stay away from me." I scoot back into my corner.
Lia shows relief on her face,”That’s right don’t trust him.”
Lia starts to walk slowly to me. I don’t move. I believe that I can trust her, she is my best friend.
“Lilly run she wants you dead didn’t you hear me” Jewl runs between Lia and me, blocking Lia’s path.
Sam yells,”Lilly, get over here, way from them!”
I start to run towards Sam. But before I can get far Jewl grabs her.
"LET GO OF ME!" Then I felt it a sharp pain in my side. I turn and see Lia holding a small thin knife covered in red goo. Jewl drops me and Sam runs over and tackles Lia down. Sam hits her over the head with the butt of the knife. Jewl runs out of the room screaming help. Sam runs over to me.
Sam bends down over me,”Don’t die on me-Please.”
"Shhh... be quiet. Focus on me. Don't close your eyes... don't close your eyes, Lilly noo."
The last thing I see is Sam starting to tear up. The last thing I hear is Sam's voice saying I love you and Jewl in the far background still yelling for help.
