Also about last night's BET Awards tribute to Prince. The fact people are just now realizing Sheila E is a bad ass performer needs to do their homework. To me stage wise Sheila E is the woman version of Prince. The fact Sheila was so slept on in the 80s pisses me off. She is way more than the Glamorous Life and Love Bizzare y'all better start giving Sheila the respect she deserves. Don't believe me? Go listen to her self titled album or Romance 1600 albums. Or better yet, YouTube her live performances. Sheila has always on her A game since day one.

for the landlocked vet of an unnamed war

who drummed and gunned and Sturm und Drang me

who held my mouth upside down

and shook loose change from my words, 

who oiled the hinge in the back of my neck, 

inspired an aura of creative convulsion,

and left only sand in my sheets.
