Stranger Places || Tas and Cade
Cade wasn’t really up for sharing, but he honestly had no intention of allowing someone he had just met think he was dreaming about them. He was trapped in between a rock and a hard place. “It was’t about you.” He said nothing more.
Tas groaned and tipped her head back, “Damn. Could’ve used the confidence boost.” She turned her head to the side and looked at him, “You alright?”

“So, the rampid blood magic and dancing under the moon isn’t true?” She laughed. These were the most common rumors about Tevinter that she heard while growing up in Orlais. She knew they were probably all lies, being she learnt them from Orlesians.
Tas tipped her head to the side and made a non-committal sound, “Oh no, there’s plenty of blood magic...” She trailed off, choosing to leave out that particular end of her abilities for now, “And there’s less dancing under the moon than rumored, but still plenty. Its fun.”

She just shrugged, “Just wanna see what it takes to make you blush. And unfortunately I’m very determined.”
He chuckled, “You won’t be seeing that from me.” Even though he chuckled his face remained stone. What was this Adaars end game here?
“Oh but we’ve just met really and we’re stuck in a series of caverns hiding taking refuge from the growing war and we don’t actively hate on another, I’ve got time.” She shook her head, “Gonna tell me who that dream was about or can I just assume it was me and let it inflate my ego?”

Tas raised an eyebrow, “Woke up before the good part then?” She teased, biting at the inside of her cheek to keep from smiling.
He narrowed his eyes, he could see what she was doing. He was never one to be so easily teased. “What is it to you?” he said grunting.
She just shrugged, “Just wanna see what it takes to make you blush. And unfortunately I’m very determined.”

Tas nodded and laughed, “That’s a pleasant way of putting it yes. Thomas and I got out just fine, there was some awkwardness involved but nothing too bad. But I left not long after, as far as I know Thomas is charming his way through Tevinter still.”
“What was Tevinter like?“ she asked. Having never been there, but hearing rumors about how the place was she was interested. Was it really a dark place or did ‘evil’ blood magic really rule?
Tas paused and tried to find the best answer, “Big, is the first word that comes to mind. Not just in size though, everything they do seems extravagant and large. There’s always something happening, and its either good or its bad, there seems to be very little inbetweens in Tevinter.”

Tas furrowed her brow and cocked her head to the side, “Nightmare? Because if so we can got get shit faced. I mean, we can do that anyway but the point remains.”
Cade contemplated if it was a nightmare or a sweet dream, perhaps it was a little bit of both. He sighed “No, it was… another kind of dream. No need for alcoholic therapy.”

“Of course not, mirmaids only live in the sea.” he growled. His pissed off demeanor was a constant thing he was told, so why the she was asking this now beat him. Perhaps the dream affected him more than he had thought. “I was having a dream.” He said gruffly not wanting to say anymore about it.

Nodding as she listened, Eira couldn’t help but feel more curious about the Qunari. “Sounds like you’ve had quite the adventure getting here. What happened to Thomas?“

“I am not entirely sure,” She smiled. The idea of finding the danger sensual intrigued her. She assumed that the situation had to be more exact that just two random people. “I don’t think I have ever experienced that thrill.” she laughed, “have you?”
Tas nodded slowly, biting her bottom lip, “Once or twice. When I was moving through Tevinter, I was trying to get food which involved a lot of stealing as ‘vints don’t particularly care for Qunari. And there was this sort of...group I ended up with for a few weeks. We’d take what we could without getting caught, come back to this little alley way and split it up. We weren’t friends really, just in similar enough circumstances to see a necessity in each other. And well, things got rough so we decided we’d go get something big, which was stupid by the way.” She chuckled and scratched at the back of her neck awkwardly, “Anyway, somehow this man and I, Tomas, we were stuck in a magister’s kitchens and we could hear guards coming. So we scrambled into this tiny closet. Now I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m not exactly what one would call ‘small’, so we were pressed right up against each other. And we could hear the guards just outside the door and...if it weren’t for the guards that’d of been a very good moment for me.”

With a shrug she moved to sit next to him, “Oh I wouldn’t have pushed you in while you were sleeping, I don’t want you dead. I’d wake you up first.” She shrugged, “Like I said, I’m gentle.“
“I have a hard time believing that.” He poked, thinking back to their night of drinking. Even though her company was welcome, he could still not shake the feelings left lingering from his dream. It was the same dream that plagued him since he had left Kirkwall and it was both welcome and unwelcome.
“What is it the horns?” She nudged his arm with her elbow as gently as she could manage, “Alright why are you making that face. You look pissed off and mildly disappointed. Were you expecting a mermaid to come out of that water?”

Eira laughed, “I am not entirely sure anyone truly understands the game. Even stranger some seem to romanticize the danger, equating it to something sensual.“ She shook her head in utter disbelief. “That is something I understand even less.”
“I’m sure you understand better than I.” Tas shrugged, “Oh danger can be sensual, the sudden rush of adrenaline if your alone with someone doing something frightening. I mean, in general its just terrifying, but...there are exceptions.”

He saw the familiar figure approaching him, he nodded in her direction. Continuing to splash water over his face and neck. “If you were to push me into the water while I twas sleeping, you may not live to see the next day.” he shook his head with a light grunt.
With a shrug she moved to sit next to him, “Oh I wouldn’t have pushed you in while you were sleeping, I don’t want you dead. I’d wake you up first.” She shrugged, “Like I said, I’m gentle.“

Tas shrugged, “Figured it was far from home which sounded nice. I’d probably have moved on to Fereldan if it weren’t for this bloody mess. But I’ve been a lot of places, this was just going to be another stop really.” She smirked and crossed her arms over her chest with a raised eyebrow, “What do you have against Orlais? Not that I hold any love for the place.”
She raised an eyebrow right back at the Qunari, “Well, being raised in the Orlesian court gives one such as myself the ability to bear no love for the country.” She laughed, “I may have learned how to play the game but I do not play it well. Nor do I wish to, considering my heritage.” Orlais was possible her least favourite place on Earth, only beating Kirkwall by a small margin.
Tas chuckled and nodded, “I’ve never quite understood the whole Game thing. Subtlety is not my strong suit.” She cocked her head to the side slightly, “So, are you some kind of noble mage thrown off to go behave in a Circle?”

He was back there, at that place, with that person. He looked into their eyes, slowly bringing his hand up to brush away their hair. Their smell was intoxicating to him, the sweet smell of salt and sun. He leaned in for a sweet kiss. Wanting everything for this to be reality and not a dream like so many times before.
His eyes flew open, just before the good part. “Piss, of course.” He mumbled having. Looking around he had chosen to take a nap next to the natural spring. If he were a less stable sleeper he’d probably have fallen in. He leaned down to splash water on his face. Hearing the sound of someone approaching he turned to look at the intruder.
Tas grinned as she walked closer to Cade, shoving any and all previous memories of him throwing her into the water to the very back of her mind where they belonged. “If I were a meaner person I’d push you in now, but I’m just a gentle heart really, so instead I’ll just ask what part of your head thought sleeping so close to the water was a good idea.”
-Tas nods and smiles- Something tells me you like long stories.
-He shrugs.- Not really. I prefer hearing them to telling them. Do you have one?
That depends, there’s a short version if you prefer that one. The long version contains a bit more huffing and an extra sigh.
I suppose i will, if you say I should. -He grins.- Well, it’s sort of a long story, actually.

Qun nonsense? I don’t know much about the Qun at all, really. Apart from what you hear, that is. -He grins- Good to meet you, regardless.
