‘The Crucible’ Returns to Broadway
[…] And there’s a new Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” the most famous play about the anxiety of witchcraft this side of “Macbeth.” The last time this was on Broadway, in 2002, Richard Eyre directed a worthy production starring Laura Linney and Liam Neeson. Expect something more adventurous from the director Ivo van Hove, who staged the stripped-down revival of Mr. Miller’s “A View from the Bridge.” He has an equally impressive roster to work with, including Saoirse Ronan, Ben Whishaw and Ciaran Hinds.
