Cape Town recap in Mauritius
Hi folks,
It’s been a while since you’ve got to read something new from my side.
The old me would apologise immediately and write an overload of meaningless words to make up for it. That was me, until I reached Cape Town more than one month ago.
Intermezzo: I am writing this blog because I got inspired by my lovely Italian roommate who just uploaded her first blog about her life and love for lists (check out ‘Doing something I thought I would never had done in my life’ by Martina Miani on Medium!).
So here I am, chilling on a Friday night in what looks like a nineties holiday apartment in Mauritius. It’s 10 PM and still 24 degrees Celsius. Enough said about this exotic island for now, let me throw you back to my second Nomad MBA month in Cape Town…
Cape Town had me when it said hello. Its scenic routes, unpredictable winds, warm beaches and cold waters, astonishing hikes up its hills and mountains, lovely citizens and vibrant culture caught me over and over again.
On top of that, Cape Town taught me a few very important lessons in life:
When life gives you a good artist, let the guy ink you.
Getting a bleeding nose when you’re about to finally ride those waves ain’t a good idea. It attracts sharks.
Watch out for screws in the woods, you might get screwed.
When your alarm goes at 5.45 AM, you wake up and hit the gym. You will get rewarded throughout the day.
When in doubt, my tribe helps me paddle out.
And finally, when bioluminescent waves come your way, be grateful for everything life has to offer you.
Short yet powerful. That sums up what Cape Town means to me. I’ll definitely go back but for now, I’ll enjoy my month in Mauritius while kickstarting a new direction in life. To be continued…
