Set in the far future, following most of the same timeline as the series held, though dabbling into it more. As the ruler of the newly established Pup Kingdom Gibbon would steal the crystal of Ice Thing for his power. After which, he would channel the crown's madness into Princess Bubblegum so as to eliminate her as a threat to his power. This would cause her to gradually transform into this universe's version of Candy Queen (later titled "The Apocalypse Queen") and forfeit the throne to live with Marceline.
Now, over a millennium later, both Apocalypse Queen and a toughened Marceline struggle to survive in a broken world ruled by a monster. While AQ having lost any and all memory of her past life (sans Marcy) revels in the chaos and obsesses over diabolic attempts at good, Marceline has become cold and embittered, and devoted to protecting Bonnie (later their children) at any cost. Can happiness and joy exist in a miserable broken world?
