__ °° Kind words of support are pouring in for my Bunny and me, of which i'm grateful for. I still need to illuminate more about Bunny's challenged life, though. To start, his feeder, when he was outdoors for those seven, long years, only came out nightly and fed the two cats at the time; then, she went inside. She rarely socialized with the cats. (This wasn't always apparent, though.) It was easier to observe this rudimentary-type treatment, however, within the short period when Bunny was all alone - when he could have really used some companionship ! - after TomTom, his hang buddy cat had recently died. That is, i would visit and pet Bunny for several nights, leading up to me rescuing him. (Add, during that period, that i witnessed the sad view of Bunny, still outside; now alone in the world, peering into the feeder's window at her cats playing; interacting with her, while Bunny looked on, forlornly, not understanding why he was alone now; and, that he was not a part of the other, happy, "indoor" cat group.) On some of these visits made by me, the next day(s), i would look at Bunny's food dish; and, it was clear that the raccoons had eaten the bulk of his food overnight. (- raccoon food bowl patterns i'm familiar with.) This, too, added to the many shortcomings poor Bunny experienced of being alone, and further shaped my already-motivated resolve to rescue my beloved boy. Yes, Bunny had his friend TomTom as a great hang buddy, for about seven years. They probably frolicked together, inseparably ! In fact, supporting that thought, before i knew that they were permanently living outdoors, i would see the two cats, in early Summer 2017, happily draped on remote ends of their feeder's porch steps. I laughingly observed about it, " Look ! .. 'bookends' ! "_ °° I have had multiple cats since 1990; and, i've loved them all; .. but, the connection that i've had within these two, past short years with my Bunny was extraordinary and irreplaceable !
