A plot point that's been bothering me in Nanbaka is that most the staff - even the warden and the supervisors - didn't know what was going on in the prison.

On one hand, okay, people probably don't react well to finding out their place of work is actually a concentration camp. And telling a lot of people would make it more likely that the secret will get out.

But. Have you noticed a lot of the guards are also 'weird'?

Like Samon and Kenshirou and that cat one having undeniable animal traits. And Hitoshi's concrete breaking durability. And that one supervisor who's literally a sarcophagus.

Call me crazy, but I think the "Nanba employs only the most remarkable guards" is a ploy to get even more oblivious togabito inside. Basically self-policing each other until Hiiro decides to kill everyone within the walls.
