#NewInterview | Got a interview with ThaSlumPoet, a hiphop/rap/rebelution/detatchmentmusic vibe artist from Georgia. Here it is:

1) Who are you and where are you from?

ThaSlumPoet and I’m based out of Atlanta. SlumPoet stands for Spiritually Liftin’ & Unifyn’ Minds Piecing Otherworldly Esoteric Thoughts

2) When did you decide to take music seriously?

April of 2013, right after I quit smoking herb. I was dropping acapellas pretty frequently and KamarSun threw one of my joints over a beat, the rest is history. 

3) How many projects have you dropped so far and what was your mindset while making each of them?

I’ve only dropped one official project and that was the Elephant EP in December. I was going through a lot of matrix related oppression at the time so it definitely isn’t the happiest sounding music. It has a very dark rebellious vibe, it’s me on the frontlines. 4) What is “Detachment Music” ? 

Detachment Music in short, is a genre we created (KamarSun & Myself) that focuses on detaching from this matrix and getting back to nature. We are a plant based movement and all of our lyrics are geared towards the elevation of the listeners’ vibrations, however we decide to deliver it. We are spiritual warriors so every track isn’t sunshine and rainbows, and I think there is where people have “spirituality” misinterpreted, but that’s another discussion. We are already seeing the detachment music wave influencing other artists and we are building a  very strong army of supporters. Our goal is for Detachment Music to be an umbrella and encompass things that go beyond the music, you could say it’s a our own mystery school. With Mother Nature and the universe as our biggest supporters our vision will only come true. Be on the look out.

7) What’s next for Slum Poet & where do you see yourself in 2 years?

Right now the main focus is the Detachment Music Vol. 2 Mixtape “D2” there is no release date yet but we are hard at work everyday to deliver an experience I feel hasn’t been brought yet. You can expect at the very least 25 tracks. 

I’m also working with producer Gnosiiis on the Year of the Horse EP set to drop in April

I have another solo EP coming out soon, but I’m keeping that quiet. I will say it will drop sooner than you’d expect. 

In 2 years I see Detachment Music to be not only a  force in the underground scene but I see us known  worldwide. I have some things I’m working on personally but due to legalities I’m not at the liberty to discuss those things right now. 

Detachment Music is the Movement, now vibe to it.
