Hypersexuality as a result of trauma can happen because you start believing you’re not good for anything else but sex. Because you believe you can’t expect love without it. Because you believe sex is the only way anyone could possibly connect to others. Because sex is the only kind of intimacy you’re “any good at”. Because you don’t know how else to get attention. Because it’s easier to get sex than love. Because cuddling after sex is the only way you know how to get nonsexual physical touch. Because you’re high/drunk all the time. Because you have no libido/desire/attraction anymore and keep hoping that having sex will kickstart it. Because you’re good at sex and it’s the only way to get recognition and respect. Because you were told that you’re “bad at sex” and you feel ashamed and are trying to “get better at it.” Because you have flashbacks if you abstain from sex. Because you feel wordlessly desperate/scared/anxious if you don’t have sex for a certain period of time. Because you associate sex with danger and you don’t believe you’re allowed to be safe. Because you feel so bad so much of the time that sex/orgasm is the only way to calm down or feel good anymore. Because you’ve been re-targeted by other abusers/perpetrators who can tell you don’t know how to say no. Because you’re still with your abuser/rapist/perpetrator and the only way to prevent “worse” violence is to initiate sex. Because sex is physically or emotionally painful for you and you’re using sex to self-harm. 

Hypersexuality after trauma is way more common than anyone wants to believe, and it can happen for so, so many different reasons. These are just a few.

This is the reason to argue to vehemently against misinformation. There are people who are either uninformed themselves or outright liars who spread the idea that “sex change” surgery results in anything close to the real thing.

These people will tell you “neo-vaginas” are indistinguishable from the actual female organ. Even gynecologists can’t tell the difference! They’ll downplay or else are completely unaware of the need for dilation and the fact that a “neo-vagina” will close up if not maintained. Because the body knows it’s a wound, not an organ.

I’ve even seen some people insist that actual post-menopausal women have to dilate which is utter nonsense. 

This brutally honest account is why the post-op trans suicide rate is so high. They were sold a lie and only realized it when it was far too late.

Declawing your cat is abusive. Keeping your cat indoors is abusive. If you don’t live in an area where your cat is safe to roam outside (large fields, little to no traffic etc.) Don’t get a cat. They need to go outside as much as dogs do. As much as all animals do. If you got a small animal like a hamster or rabbit you can build enclosures outside if you got a big enough garden. If it’s bigger you need to live somewhere safe where it has the appropriate amount of space to be outside.

Cats are not good pets for people who live in the city. Cats are not good for people who live in large towns with lots of traffic. You should only get a cat if you live in rural country areas. Don’t get a cat just cause you think it’s cute. That makes you no better than people who get pugs. Cats need to go outside.

I remember when my cats got old enough to go out. We didn’t want them to at first cause we thought they were to young (went to the vet to ask if they were old enough. they were) but before we let them out they just sat at the door or window and looked out. Sometimes meowing and walking back and forth.

Older cats might give up at some point cause you maneged to break their spirit. Good job. Arent you a good pet owner:)

Keeping a cat indoors is the same as keeping a horse in a stable all it’s life. It doesn’t matter how big or nice the stable is, it’s still not a fulfilling life for the animal.

If you get a pet of any kind you need to be able to fulfill their needs. Stop being selfish and let your cat go outside somewhere it can safely roam or don’t get a cat.

if you want your cat to have access to the outdoors, LEASH TRAIN THEM or give them a confined outdoor space. dogs do need to go outside and they get LEASH TRAINED - people who let their dogs out roaming get their dogs shot and are rightfully called irresponsible. horses need to go outside but are still KEPT IN CONFINED PASTURES. no one lets their horse fucking free roam the countryside.

Hey! I lived a rural area for 90% of my life and I always had outdoor cats as a kid, and they all went missing or turned up mangled in our yard :) we lived a good 20 miles from anyone else so they most likely weren’t killed by cars or picked up by other people. Its pretty much guaranteed they were eaten alive by coyotes, skunks, or hawks. Coyotes killed one of our dogs too, because we let it free roam on our 20 acre property.

Now that I’m a reasonable adult with more than 2 braincells all my cats are indoor with strict supervision on a leash when they go outdoors and my last cat recently passed at 17 years old compared to the average 2 or 3 years from my outdoor cats. You are a fucking idiot and a fucking awful cat owner.
