more of a glorified tech test for ren'py action replay and live2d, but hey! it's not as much of a slog to read as raconteurs & historians, so i might be getting better at pacing.

I remade all the backgrounds for my visual novel, Raconteurs & Historians!

When I initially released my game, I used creative common assets from a bunch of people on Itch.io for my backgrounds. I'm not the fondest of drawing backgrounds (I'm much more character oriented), and I love creative commons, so I saw it as a fine compromise for initial release.

However, I wasn't truly happy with it, so I found some time to remake all of the backgrounds in my game. While I was at it, I also rewrote some portions to streamline the narrative. I think it better captures my vision now.

However, I think there's still some things to be improved. For example, I reckon some scenes could be conveyed better through a CG than simple sprites... but for now, please take Raconteurs & Historians 2.00.

A mysterious storyteller has run out of ideas for his show. Luckily, he has all the time in the world to find material… He's found himself snowed into an empty cabin!

A short, adventure-y visual novel, emphasis on novel (certified yappers. both the characters and me.)

Made for Hackclub Storyboard December 2025. Also my first game, which is why it is very scuffed. Details on the itch! it's 4 am and I should probably go to sleep! Probably.

Also my first tumblr post ever. So hi! Might not be a gamedev blog. Might be more of a fandom/OC blog. That's too bad! Games will still randomly pop up every month or so though. I have Ren'Py, and I bought RPG Maker! Surely they won't go to waste!
